Yet it was at that moment that they suffered an inimaginable tragedy when their friend, bass player, and guiding force Cliff Burton died suddenly in a bus accident in Europe. This is the story of how Metallica picked up the pieces and pressed on creating in the process their heaviest album ever.

  • 200 - Attica Prison Uprising Part 3 0f 4 Reprisals and Cover Ups

    On Governor Rockefeller's orders rather than continue negotiations New York state police lead the assault on Attica's D year. An assault the leads to the deaths of 29 inmates and 10 hostages. Yet despite the state troopers being responsible for each and everyone of these deaths initial reports claim otherwise as the state of New York attempts to cover up what happened in Attica.

  • 199 - Attica Prison Uprising Part 2 of 4 Rebellion

    With Commissioner Oswald failing to alleviate the growing tensions in Attica events lead to an unplanned and spontaneous riot on the 9th of September 1971. Yet following the initial violence and chaos of the riot a number of prisoners take advantage of the situation and organize a protest of sorts to try and force the state of New York to improve the conditions of its prisons.

  • 198 - History of Heavy Metal Remaster Part 2 NWOBHM

    I once again return to my history of heavy metal with new research into the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. While Black Sabbath provide the initial rough blue prints for heavy metal these bands would expand on those themes and really begin to codify what heavy metal was.
