The FLOT Line Show

As the core group of mature believers shrinks, client nation America is in peril. America has an authority orientation problem. Unthankful, unforgiving, slanders and no self-control are terms used in the Bible to describe the people of a nation in decline. “Having a form of godliness but denying the power” (2 Tim 3:5). Paul warns us, “Turn away from these, they are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Tim 3:5-7). Believers must not be distracted or captured by the details of life. You must finish the race. You must pass the baton of the Word of God to the next generation. You may be sick and hurting and wishing to go to heaven but remember it’s not God’s time yet. He has a plan for you. He is still using you. Your children and your grandchildren must see the importance of the Word of God is in your life. They must see your fidelity of faith and your stance in truth. The race is not over until you put the baton in their hands.

When the pivot shrinks, the client nation is in trouble. The trouble comes from the spin-off of believers who get distracted and get into self-absorption substituting ritual for reality. The justice of God will meet out judgment on this nation if the next generation doesn’t take the baton and carry on the torch of truth. “He who has My Word let him speak it faithfully because My Word is like a fire and like a hammer” (Jer 23:28-29). Very few understand the mechanics of the Christian life. You can’t live in the devil’s world in a blind condition. This is why it is critical to learn and apply God’s Word. “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Ps 119:105). Personal love for God is what motivated you to be obedient. “If we love Him we will obey Him and His Mandates are not hard” (1 John 5:3). We are in the end times of client nation America having the protection and the blessing of God if we continue on the course we’re on.

The pivot is the core group of mature believers. As goes the pivot, so goes the nation. America is God’s designated client nation now. If America is going to survive as a free nation it depends on two things: the older generation of mature believers finishing the race and the next generation picking up the baton. Study, learn and grow. This is how you advance in the Christian life and become the person God wants you to be. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom 10:7). If you’re not hearing the Word of God taught by a well-qualified pastor you are not going to grow. God has only one problem-solving way of thinking—divine viewpoint acquired by learning to think as Christ thought. Satan seeks to defeat America by veiling the gospel and through deception and distraction. His objective is to shut down the light so the next generation doesn’t believe In the Lord Jesus Christ. Many people are afraid to be alone and are lonely. Time alone with God is very critical, especially if you want to have a prayer life. This is how Jesus Christ spent His time when He was here on earth, “Now in the morning, having risen before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place and there He prayed” (Mark 1:35).

Learn to handle sin and evil and have the discernment to identify both. Grace is the genius of God. Evil is Satan’s counterfeit of God’s grace. Evil sounds good, looks good, but is the opposite of grace. Evil is very deceptive. Arrogance will destroy you. “If a man thinks himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself” (Gal 6:3). Be aware of your arrogance tendencies and counter them with spiritual growth. Be aware a lack of divine wisdom is a problem and you can get ahead or get behind God. Your goal is to stay in step with God. Once your relationship with God becomes priority number one and everything else lines up behind it, then you will have the greatest happiness the world has ever known. Another problem in the spiritual life is the failure to understand spirituality as an absolute. At any time you are either in fellowship with God filled with the Holy Spirit or you are in carnality with unconfessed sin in your life. Spirituality and carnality are absolutes. Understanding and using God’s 10 problem-solving devices becomes the real key to you living your Christian life because if you don’t live it God’s way, you’re going to get frustrated.

The sin nature is a problem. Whatever trend or lust pattern your sin nature has, if your volition feeds it then you’re going to go there. This is why the filling of the Holy Spirit is so critical along with taking in the Word of God on a consistent basis. A problem Christians face is attempting to execute God’s plan through human power rather than through divine power. It won’t work because it’s a supernatural plan and requires supernatural power. Another problem is ignorance of Biblical doctrine especially regarding the Biblical mandates of love. “If you love Me you will obey Me” (1 John 5:3). The most serious problem in the malfunction of the spiritual life is failure to grow, failure to execute the protocol plan of God, and failure to make it the number one priority in their lives. “Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim 2:15).

When a Christian doesn’t recognize arrogance in his life, it’s a mental flaw that neutralizes spiritual growth. Many have hang-ups with certain sins or with people and this derails their spiritual lives. “Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Pet 4:8). Studying God’s Word is how to counter mental flaws. It will show you where you are hypersensitive or arrogant. You must deal with it to advance spiritually and become the person God wants you to be. “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Psalm 119 provides the keys to success in our spiritual life: walk, keep and seek.

Placing relationships with people over our relationship with God is a significant problem for many. Our number one objective is to grow to spiritual maturity so we can glorify God to the maximum. “Daily they searched the Scripture” (Acts 17:11). Another problem is how you learn. You can’t teach yourself to spiritual maturity. You must grow from the ministry of a well-qualified pastor. Hearing and keeping the Word of God on a consistent basis is what brings spiritual momentum. “Happiness belongs to those people who hear My Word and keep it” (Luke 11:27-28). God gives us testing as an opportunity to apply the spiritual skills we’ve learned and to accelerate our growth. Evaluate your life in the light of the Word of God to stay objective. “A person’s pride will humiliate him but a humble spirit gains honor” (Prov 29:23). This requires humility. And humility is required before you can reach spiritual maturity.

Distractions stop you from growing in the Christian life. Wasted time is a serious problem. “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the actual words of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.” (Heb 5:12) You face four dangers: Placing our relationships with people over our relationship with God. Attempting to execute God’s plan with our human power. “Be filled with the Holy Spirit" (Eph 5:18). Ignorance of the Biblical mandate of love. “If you love Me you will keep my mandates and they are not hard” (1 John 5:3).

We all have frustrations and flaws. Some flaws are inherited, and some are acquired. Flaws affect our lives and the decisions we make because they affect our thinking. “For that which I want to do, I don’t do, but the things that I hate to do, those are the things I do” (Rom 7:15). Nothing you can do in life will negate your salvation. Once saved, always saved. That’s eternal security. The problem is in guilt, we fail to forgive ourselves. Guilt is a sin. You’re going to fail. We all do. The key is to name the sin to God, pick yourself up, and keep moving ahead, taking in the Word of God and applying it in your life. Keep advancing in the spiritual life. “Forgetting those things which are behind me I reach forward to those things which are ahead” (Phil 3:13).

Use the faith-rest drill to calm yourself in the storms of life. Fear causes you to focus on yourself, but faith puts the focus on God and His Word. If the Lord Jesus Christ can calm the storm in the middle of the Sea of Galilee, can He not calm your storms and deliver you as well? He will—if you trust Him, stay filled with the Holy Spirit, keep your eyes on the facts and off of yourself, and don’t let fear take control. “My God shall supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:19). The Holy Spirit gives you strength by recalling the Word of God you have stored in your soul.

God is looking for pivot potential. Those of you who will stand in the gap. “I looked for somebody to stand in the hedge between Me and the people and to make up the gap in the land but I could not find even one” (Ezek 22:30). A pivot is a core group of mature believers that God uses to sustain a nation. You manifest the light to a nation in darkness. You are the salt that preserves the nation. Through your spiritual life, your prayers, your blessing by association, your nation survives. You can’t be a member of the pivot if you compromise on God’s truth or serve another god. To be pivot potential you can’t be afraid to stand in the gap. God raised up Gideon, the mighty man of valor. “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor” (Judges 6:12). God uses prepared people, people that are alert, ready and equipped with the Word of God stored in their souls. God is counting on you to be a part of the pivot. We are facing unbelievable tests in the coming years and unless you reach spiritual maturity, unless you represent Jesus Christ to your generation, the next generation won’t have a chance. Are you serious enough about your spiritual life to realize the awesome responsibility God has given you?

God has given you many operational assets to live your spiritual life. the Bible, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ, and pastor-teachers are all grace resources you have. If you don’t use these resources and can’t concentrate on the teaching of God’s Word your spiritual life will be a waste. “Those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Heb 5:14). Solomon explains, “When wisdom enters your heart and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, then discretion will preserve you and understanding will keep you” (Prov 2:10-11). The heart is the real you. Your spiritual life is fueled by what you think. You are to think as Christ thought. “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil 2:5).

Easter is a time to celebrate the power of Jesus Christ’s resurrection and eternal security through faith in His finished work on the cross. “Behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor 6:2). Easter is also a time to recognize the significance of your spiritual life and reflect upon what will happen after your resurrection. As a believer, your spiritual life will be evaluated at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Will your evaluation be filled with human works that will be burned up as wood, hay, and stubble, or with rewardable divine assets of gold, silver, and precious stones? (1 Cor 3:11-15) The goal is to hear Jesus Christ say, “‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’” (Matt 25:23)

A Christian who yields to the temptations of their sinful nature and stays out of fellowship with God goes into reversionism. If you’re in reversionism you can’t grow spiritually. You’ll become hypersensitive and prolonged involvement in the cosmic system will lead to a frantic search for happiness. “They are lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God” (2 Pet 3:4).

It is never too late to recover from prolonged carnality. Use Rebound (problem-solving device number one), to get back in fellowship with God, and resume your spiritual life.

Rebound: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ endured six illegal trials including beatings and horrid treatment before being sentenced to death by crucifixion. He never complained. “We have turned everyone to his own way and God the Father hath laid on God the Son the inquiry of us all. Jesus Christ was oppressed. He was afflicted and yet He opened not His mouth” (Is 53:3-7). When Jesus completed God the Father’s plan to go to the cross and bear the sins of the world, taking our place, He said “It is finished.” Believing in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross is how you get to heaven. Jesus Christ, the anointed Savior of the world, was crucified for you.

You can glorify God far more when you keep your mouth shut than when you run your mouth. Make this a principle in your life. Never judge another person. “Do not judge lest you be judged because, with the measure you measure, it will be measured back to you again” (Matt 7:12). Don’t stick your nose in another person’s business. Be careful what you say about others. Use impersonal love. This is the same love that God used with you. You should be greasy spots right now—you’re not because God loves us. He demonstrated love for you when He sent His Son, our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, to go to the cross and pay the penalty for our sins. “A soothing tongue is a tree of life but a deceitful tongue breaks the spirit” (Prov 15:4).

America will not survive much longer if we continue to spurn God and His Word, and not listen to His mandates and warnings. “The fool takes no pleasure in understanding” (Ps 18:12). The chaos we are experiencing is a result of unchecked sin natures. As the Lord looked upon His creation and upon the hearts of man, this is what He said, “Every inclination of the thoughts of their minds was on evil” (Gen 6:5). Evil is the system of Satan. Satan loves to impugn the name of God. You are the answer to what’s wrong in America. As goes your spiritual life, so goes our great nation.” I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land so I would not destroy it, but I found none” (Ezek 22:30).

God mandates ‘No Fear.’ “Do not fear, I am with you” (Is 41:10). Worry is not a way of thinking for a Christian. We must think with a divine viewpoint. Pick up the shield of faith. Stand behind the promises of God. Focus on His solution and not the problem—the solution is to orient and adjust to the plan of God. “Worry in the heart of a man weighs it down, but a good word produces a superabundance of happiness” (Prov 12:25). God provides logistical grace for you. He keeps you alive. You are not to worry. “Cast all your burdens on the Lord, He will sustain you” (Ps 55:22).

Spiritual life failure has consequences—our nation is in decline and under God’s discipline. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). It starts with you if you want God to guarantee His blessing on America, and your children and grandchildren. As your spiritual life goes, so goes your life, family, and the nation. “I [God] searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it” (Ezek 22:30). Will you be the one God finds to stand in the gap?

Relax even in the face of adversity knowing God has promised you logistical grace provisions. Faith-rest is a tremendous problem-solving device. “This I recall to mind and therefore I have confidence. It is through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning, great is His faithfulness” (Lam 3:21-23). “Lay up for yourself treasures in heaven” (1 Cor 3:11-16). Treasures in heaven are the blessings God bestows on winner believers, those who grow to spiritual maturity and glorify God to the maximum. Keep your spiritual life as your top priority and money won’t be a distraction. Jesus Christ wants us to remember never to be a slave to money. “Let your lifestyle be free from the love of money. Keep on being content with what you have.” (Heb 13:5). Wealth can keep a person from seeing the need for salvation. “What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).

Be serious about your Christian life. Learn and live God’s Word to be prepared for the disaster that is coming. “Neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes” (Job 5:21). Acquiring the mind of Christ will give you a stable mind. Applying it brings a relaxed mental attitude. God will provide your logistical daily needs. This is a divine promise. “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. He will provide your needs” (Matt 6:33). You have the two greatest supernatural powers in the world - the Holy Spirit and the Bible. Use them! This is your strength. This is where you get direction. Remember, “Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). You have a ringside seat observing the pending disaster. Keep your mind on the Lord Jesus Christ. Stand still and watch God deliver you.

The spiritually mature believer can live his life as unto the Lord and not as unto man. “Whatever you do, do it from your soul as unto the Lord and not unto man” (Col 3:23). You grow to spiritual maturity by coming to understand God’s plan and consistently functioning in it. You get to know God through Christ and understand God through the ministry of the Holy Spirit and Scripture as enlightened by a well-qualified pastor. Growing to spiritual maturity is the basis for blessings in time and rewards in eternity. God provides everything needed to grow up spiritually through His grace provisions. “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Pet 3:18).

Spirituality is absolute. You are either filled with the Holy Spirit or you are in carnality controlled by your sin nature. Spirituality is related to the filling of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual maturity is related to the content of the Word of God in your soul. Maturity is relative. To glorify God in this life you need to grow up spiritually. In maturity you have a maximum application of God’s Word in your life, this is wisdom, and you have maximum trust in God, this is faith. “These things I have spoken to you that My joy might be in you” (John 15:11). A maturing Christian is filled with the Holy Spirit and taking in the Word of God daily—learning, growing and applying. “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil 2:5). You have to learn to think with the mind of Christ and apply it if you’re ever going to glorify God.

Your spiritual life is the anchor that holds your country together. As God blesses you, the blessings overflow into the lives of others in your periphery. Spirituality is a relationship with God the Holy Spirit. Spirituality is absolute. You are either in fellowship controlled by the Holy Spirit or in carnality controlled by the sin nature. “For if you live after the flesh you will die. But if you put to death the deeds of the body by means of the Holy Spirit, you will live” (Rom 9:13). You have a choice of who controls your life—the Holy Spirit or the sin nature. You decide. Spirituality is being filled with the Holy Spirit. Spiritual maturity is being filled with the Holy Spirit and having a maximum amount of Biblical knowledge in your soul. You must be spiritual before you can become a spiritually mature believer.

Spiritual growth is a lifelong process. You don’t graduate from the Christian life. You must keep plugging. Emotions will not carry you. “As a man thinks in his heart so he is” (Prov 23:7). You grow from learning the mechanics of the Christian life from the teaching of the Word of God. The key to growing is staying under the control of the Holy Spirit, not your sin nature. “Reason you also yourself to be dead to sin but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom 6:11). The inward battle between the Holy Spirit and your sin nature will be never-ending.

Your spiritual life is lived 24/7. It’s not just worship on Sundays. Just as your body needs nutrition, your spiritual life needs spiritual nutrients. “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full” (John 15:11). Your objective is spiritual maturity. This requires consistency in staying filled with the Holy Spirit and learning and applying God’s Word. “Your Word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You” (Ps 119:11). To win in the Christian life you need to understand what the will of God is for your life. God commands you to study His Word and grow spiritually. “I am looking for those who know Me and understand Me” (Jer 9:23). We worship God by staying filled with the Holy Spirit and learning and applying the truth of the Word of God in our lives. “Those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). The Holy Spirit that dwells in you is the very same Holy Spirit that sustained our Lord Jesus Christ and guided Him during His time on earth. You have all the power you need to live the Christian life if you will tap into the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Your values must come from the Bible. Your trust must be in the Lord. “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man” (Ps 118:8-9). Nations rise and fall based on the power of God and His plan. The power of Christianity is invisible and spiritual. To be a good Christian you need to stay filled with the Holy Spirit and grow spiritually. “He who gives attention to the Word shall find good and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord” (Prov 16:20). We are facing a disaster in this nation if we do not get with it spiritually.

America is in serious trouble. We have put our trust in the strength of man and not God. “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and who makes flesh his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord” (Jer 17:5). No individual can change the course of our nation. Only we believers can if we prioritize growing to spiritual maturity. We need to put our trust in God, not man. If God is proclaimed, if His name is lifted up, if His Word is taught in the pulpits and studied across this nation, then America can continue to be the land of the free. “Blessed be the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord” (Jer 17:7). President George Washington said, “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits and humbly to implore His protection and favor.” Jesus Christ controls history. “He created all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible. He existed before everything and He holds everything together” (Col 1:16-17).

There are many times when you should be laconic—keep your mouth shut. Here are a few reasons. When you are angry or tempted to lie. “A short-tempered person acts stupidly and the person who plots evil is hated” (Prov 14:17). When you are tempted to pervert or twist the truth. Satan is the greatest twister of the truth in the world. Keep your mouth shut when you are tempted to straighten out a fool or speak without having all of the facts. Your job is to re-present Christ, not try to correct others. “Those who are wise store up knowledge but the mouth of a stubborn fool invites ruin” (Prov 10:14). Another reason to be laconic is when you are tempted to say more than you should. “Sin is unavoidable when there is much talk but whoever seals his lips is wise” (Prov 10:19). “The one who guards his words guards his life, but whoever is talkative will come to ruin” (Prov 13:3).

Many of the prayers people make are probably not answered because they are made while out of fellowship with the Holy Spirit. “If I regard inquiry in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” If you have known sin in your life, the only prayer that’s going to be answered is 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us.” Prayers must be offered in faith. “All things whatsoever you ask in prayer believing you shall receive” (Matt 21:22). If you are disobedient to God, your prayer won’t be answered. “And whatever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His mandates and we do those things that are pleasing in His sight” (1 John 3:22). Prayer won’t be answered if it’s motivated by power, money, approbation, or any other lust. “You ask and you receive not because you ask amiss so that you may consume it upon your lust” (James 4:2).

God is the voice of truth. He speaks to you through His Word, the Bible. “It is alive and powerful” (Heb 4:12). You have the shared power of God when you combine the power of the Holy Spirit living in you and the power of the Word of God. There are voices that you should not listen too. “Let no man deceive you with vain words” (Eph 5:6). Vain words are empty words void of truth. This is human viewpoint thinking. This is the thinking of the world. Divine viewpoint is truth, the light. This is why you need to acquire the mind of Christ. To have truth in your mind, in your soul. No man can solve the problems we face as a nation. The solution is a divine one. “Cursed in the man who trusts man” (Jer 17:5). As goes your spiritual life, so goes the course of our nation. If you neglect God and His Word, you are inviting disaster.

Spiritual independence is the first step of spiritual self-esteem. Stay in the Word and God the Holy Spirit will guide you. “Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me in a level path” (Ps 27:11). You will be able to make decisions on your own—not relying on others. Spiritual self-confidence means you won’t be intimidated by decisions. You will make good decisions and stand behind them. You will face every problem in your life with inner happiness. “Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.” (27:14)

Your mission unto death (until you depart this life) is to lift up Christ. Tell the generations to come who He is, what He’s accomplished, and what He provides. Knowledge is understanding the Word of God, learning the protocol plan of God and how it works, and being victorious in this angelic conflict. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. God offers you a divine pardon from spending eternity in the Lake of Fire. “He that believes not, the wrath of God abides on him already” (John 3:36). We are all born spiritually dead and those who have not accepted God’s divine pardon by means of faith in the work of Jesus Christ remain dead. You need to be born again by accepting God’s divine pardon, accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior to have eternal life. Only your Savior can rescue you from the storms you face in life. You may not have control over much in life, but you do have control over your spiritual growth. If you want to become the person God intends for you to be you need to “Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that who does not need to be ashamed” (2 Tim 2:15). God rewards integrity and when your thoughts honor Him when you have divine viewpoint thinking, then you become what God would call an invisible hero.

Christianity has nothing to do with emotion. Living the Christian life is about thinking. Only the knowledge of God’s Word in your soul will sustain you during life’s ups and downs. “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil 2:5). As you renovate your thinking you see life through a divine viewpoint rather than an emotional human viewpoint. “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom 12:2). Often problems arise when you don’t think and act on your emotions. Your emotions were designed as appreciators in life, not to direct your intentions and actions. When you use your volition to override your conscience and you act on how you feel rather than on what you think, you are going to make bad decisions.

You have a divine pardon from God. Take it! “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom 10:13). You can have a wonderfully bright future through learning and living God’s plan for you. Jesus Christ knew His mission was to die on the cross. Through His finished work on the cross, our salvation is guaranteed. “He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross” (Phil 2:8). We need to live with humility also and this refers to respect for authority, fair or unfair. You need to acquire the mind of Christ, renovate your thinking, to be able to respond with humility.

God disciplines us to get our attention. He does it from His love, not anger. The purpose of discipline is to wake us up to name our sins and get us back in His plan. He disciplines us to prevent us from self-destructing. “The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him, and the cords of his sin hold him fast” (Prov 5:22). When you are under God’s divine discipline you can do two things. You can respond with humility, use rebound, and get back on track with your spiritual life. Or you can react with arrogance and blame it on anybody but yourself. Arrogance is a sin that motivates us to commit additional sins and is a huge distraction to the Christian life.

Jesus Christ died for all humanity. God never discriminates. When we receive Christ as our Savior, we are given His righteousness and we are brought into the royal family of God. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God and if children then heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ” (Rom 8:16-17). Jesus Christ guarantees you two things: He will never leave you and He will return for you. Once you are saved you need to realize you will still sin and you need to know how to handle personal sin. Sin uncovers you and exposes you to the elements of the world. This is why you need to use problem-solving device #1 rebound. The key to staying in fellowship with God is dealing with sin at the moment you recognize you sinned and putting the Word of God in your mind. “Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee” (Ps 119:11).

You must understand God to worship Him. Learning the attributes of God increases your understanding of God and your love for Him. “Let him who boasts, boasts of this, that he understands and knows Me” (Jer 9:24). God’s attributes include sovereignty, immutability, justice, righteousness, love, omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, veracity, and eternal life. Each attribute guarantees God is in control, and you never have to worry. “'Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?’ Declares the Lord” ( Jer 23:24).

The divine pardon of salvation is available to each of us because of God’s unfailing love for us. “For God so loved the world He gave His uniquely born Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we are not only freed from eternal separation from God, that’s our pardon, but our sins, our debts are forgiven forever. God sent His Son to pay for our sin. This is a grace gift of God. We don’t earn it. We don’t deserve it. All we must do is show faith. Regardless of some crime, you may have committed, regardless of your faults and failures (and we all have some) God still loves you and offers you a divine pardon. Take it.

A divine pardon removes you from the penalty of going to hell. It is available to you, to all mankind, based on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Simply “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). Jesus Christ granted a divine pardon to a criminal being crucified next to Him on the cross who recognized He was his Lord and Savior. Our Lord told this criminal, “Assuredly I say unto you, today you will be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43). It is at this point Christ granted a divine pardon. The criminal had simply believed in the true identity of the Savior. 1 John 5:1 verifies this fact, “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.”

Grow up spiritually and be the man or woman God intends for you to be. There is only one way to do it. Stay filled with the Holy Spirit and take in God’s Word every day. “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom 12:2). This is the only thing that will save America. When you neglect God’s Word, when you substitute entertainment for learning, you are playing right into the devil’s hand. “The wisdom of this world is foolishness” (1 Cor 1:20). Spiritual maturity is your objective so you can glorify God to the maximum. This will require a daily pattern of growth. America is God’s client nation. To interpret contemporary history is to be able to apply a maximum amount of the Word of God to the situation. To be on the right side of history you need to know and apply God’s Word or you won’t understand what’s going on around you. You’ll be discouraged and confused. God allows certain people to get into power, either for your blessing and prosperity or for discipline. If you look at the spiritual, political, and social trends today, appears we are under discipline from God. Don’t be afraid of what you see happening in America today. This is your destiny as a mature believer. This is God’s promise to you: “He shall deliver you in six troubles, yes in seven there shall be no evil touch you. In famine He will redeem you from death and in war from the power of the sword” (Job 5:19-27).

You were born with a sin nature. All humans are born with a sin nature. “For by one man [Adam] sin came into the world and death by sin and now death has passed on all for all have sinned” (Rom 5:12). This is why you need to be born again by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. Your new birth gives you the ministry of the Holy Spirit. This is the only way you can control your sin nature which tries to dominate you. You make the choice on who controls your life - the Holy Spirit or your sin nature. “The flesh wars against the Spirit and the Spirit wars against the flesh” (Gal 5:17). Don’t blame God for your grief. Ask what God has for you. Miracles do not save you. No miracle performed by our Lord was eternal except the miracle of the cross. The miracle of forgiveness is eternal when you believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Savior. Suffering is designed for blessing and to accelerate our spiritual growth. It’s amazing, the more we suffer, the closer we get to God. The grace of God is sufficient to handle any difficulties you may have. “My grace is sufficient and My strength is perfected in weakness” (2 Cor 12:8). Scripture is your power. The Holy Spirit is the anchor in your soul and He uses this Scripture, this is where the power comes from. God’s grace is always sufficient. Bible doctrine comforts you. The operational faith fueled by God’s Word and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit is the miracle. It will give you confidence in the Lord and the ability to understand your circumstances.

The will of God will never lead you to where the grace of God cannot protect you. God will show you His will through His Word, through the circumstances and through the Holy Spirit. This is divine guidance, Ps 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with My eye.” God’s will doesn’t include you carrying despair or the sort of grief that is an unbearable load. He is not going to ask you to do something you can’t and He promises you rest. “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your soul. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30). “When wisdom enters your heart and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you and understanding will keep you" (Prov 2:22). Divine guidance is the communication of God’s will for you through His Word. God speaks to you through the Bible. Get under a qualified pastor. Listen to the teaching of God’s Word. Be patient and God will reveal His will to you. Divine guidance and the execution of the will of God is a private matter between you and God. Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil 4:13). “The Lord will give strength to His people and will bless His people with peace” (Ps 29:11). The Lord’s strength and peace are coping skills that give you the ability to handle horrific situations and deal with haunting memories, put them out of your mind so you can focus on God’s Word. You need a light to guide you and this is learning God’s Word, the mind of Christ. You need a compass to know the way and this is using the ministry of the Holy Spirit, your mentor. “Do not be unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Eph 5:17). This is a mandate from God. Here are the principles for following divine guidance. The 3 A’s. Align your life with His will. Abort your own plans. Adapt to the circumstances God leads you into. God has a directive will for you, a permissive will and an overruling will for you. There are three subsets to His directive will: His geographic will—where He wants you to be. His viewpoint will—what He wants you to think. His operational will—what He wants you to do. God’s permissive will means He will let you go down dead-end streets when you are in carnality. God can overrule your bad decisions if He wants to.

God’s plan might not coincide with your plans. Your thoughts center around security while His purpose for your life is much greater and beyond your expectations. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Is 55:8-9). Understanding God’s directive will is essential to living the Christian way of life. God wants you to grow to spiritual maturity “Grow in the grace and the knowledge of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet 3:18). LAG is a way to remember this. Learn. Apply, Glorify God. God’s system, the protocol plan of God, must be learned. The right thing must be done in the right way. If you don’t learn the plays, if you don’t understand the protocol plan of God, you may have the uniform of a Christian but you are going to sit on the bench because God can’t use you in the game. Are you willing to turn your life over to the direction of God the Holy Spirit? This is where many Christians lose sight of God’s Plan. They don’t have the confidence in the ability of God to care for their best interests.

You have been given a certain amount of time on Earth. Only God knows the time, the manner and the place of your departure. Your mission during your time on Earth is to shine the light of the Gospel, to re-present Jesus Christ to those in darkness. “I am the Light of the world and he who follows Me shall no longer walk in darkness but will have the Light of life” (John 8:12). You must be ready to shine the light anywhere, anytime, any day to lead lost men and women to Christ. “Now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Eph 5:8). This means you are the reflective light of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. The truth of the Word of God in your soul is the battery that produces the light. “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Ps 119:105). The light of God’s Word keeps you from stumbling in the darkness of Satan’s world and comforts you. Your attitude and actions can enlighten the lost man. You are an ambassador for Christ. Our mission in our time on earth (TOE) is to serve our Master’s interest. We are to redeem our TOE wisely. “Walk circumspectly, not as a fool but be wise and redeem our time because the days are evil” (Eph 5:15-16). The key is staying filled with the Holy Spirit and thus being controlled by the Holy Spirit. This is a requirement to perceive and apply the Word of God. “That the Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened” (Eph 1:17-20). “Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needs not to be ashamed rightly diving the word of truth” (2 Tim 2:15). Your time on Earth is very short. God wants you to redeem your time wisely by learning and following His protocol plan and doing the right thing in the right way. To try and live the Christian life apart from the filling of the Holy Spirit and within the protocol plan is a waste of time. “See that you walk circumspectly. Do not walk like a fool but as a wise man redeeming your time because the days are evil” (Eph 5:15-16). God can capitalize you with time, so you use it to gain divine wisdom and glorify Him. “Happiness belongs to the one who finds wisdom and to the one who gains understanding” (Prov 3:13). Your body may be racked and sacked by time, but your soul is timeless. Your body ages but your soul is ageless and will live forever.

God leaves you here after salvation to be a witness for Christ. “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things” (Rom 10:15). Your job is to witness through your life and what you say. The greatest power you have is the gospel. Present it and then let the Holy Spirit do the convincing and the convicting. Do you pray for the opportunity to witness? “My heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation” (Rom 10:1). You have their ticket to heaven. Will you be a witness for Christ, or will you allow Satan to scare you away from doing your job? “I am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of salvation to everyone who believes” (Rom 1:16).

The Bible makes it clear we are to put on Christ. Occupation with Christ is thinking as He thought and living as He lived. “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh nor fulfill its lust” (Rom 13:14). “Acquire the mind of Christ” (1 For 2:16). Humility is a learned trait and necessary for being occupied with Christ. “He humbled Himself” (Phil 2:5). Jesus Christ thought divine viewpoint and you need to also. When you are occupied with Christ you have His perfect happiness and are prepared to meet any exigency head-on. “And come to know the love for Christ which goes beyond knowledge so that you may be filled with the fullness of God” (Eph 3:19).

The Christian life is meant to be lived stress-free. You can have a life free of stress if you learn and use the problem-solving device Sharing the Happiness of God. Personal love for God is your motivational virtue. “If we love Him, we will obey Him and His mandates are not hard” (1 John 5:3). God’s happiness, perfect happiness, is always related to the grace policy of God. “I will rejoice and be happy in the provision of Your grace” (Ps 31:7). You are responsible for your happiness, no one else. “I have learned to be content…because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil 4:11-13). There is no greater joy in this world than fulfilling the plan of God for your life.

There’s no reason for you to ever be unhappy. God gives you everything you need to have His happiness. “I have taught you these things that My happiness might be in you and that your happiness might be fulfilled” (John 15:11). The key to happiness is learning and applying God’s Word. “Happy is the one who finds wisdom and obtains understanding” (Prov 3:13). Wisdom is the knowledge of God’s Word in your soul that is ready to be recalled and used at any moment. Happiness does not depend on people or circumstances. God loves you. You love others not based on who they are or what they do but based on who you are. That’s exactly what God did with you. When you have a personal love for God, you can have impersonal love for others. It’s an amazing problem-solving device. The plan of God is for you to love others. This means you have a relaxed mental attitude toward others. Your love for others is not based on their actions but rather it is based on your integrity that comes from your personal love for God. “Happiness belongs to those who hear My Father’s Word and keep it” (Luke 11:27-28).

Personal love for God is the highest motivational virtue in your life. This is what motivates you to obey God. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all of thy soul and with all of thy mind. This is the first and the great mandate” (Matt 22:37-38). If you are prejudiced, you are not loving God because the people you hate are people Jesus died for. “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son” (John 3:16). “And this is the mandate we have from Him, that he who loves God must also love his brother” (1 John 4:20-21). God has given you a personal sense of destiny for time and eternity. “We according to His promise look for new heavens and a new earth in which dwells righteousness” (2 Pet 3:13). Your spiritual life refers to what’s happening in your soul and human spirit. God gives you a spiritual life so you can operate in the devil’s world. Your spiritual life and your spiritual growth go with you to heaven. “The Word of the Lord endures forever” (1 Pet 1:25). How is your spiritual life? Are you maturing and replicating the thinking of Christ? Do you know and use God’s 10 problem-solving devices? Without understanding the Word of God, you can’t orient to God’s plan for your life. You need God’s Word for direction and motivation to live your life for the glory of God. “If you love Me you will obey Me” (John 14:15). God mandates you to study His Word under the ministry of a qualified pastor-teacher and grow spiritually. Grace orientation is being aligned with God’s grace policy. God depends on who and what God is, not us. God does all the work. We are saved by grace. “For by grace you are saved through faith, it is a gift of God” (Eph 2:8). Religion counterfeits the grace of God. The only way to get peace in your soul is to “Grow in the grace and the knowledge of your Lord and Savior” (2 Pet 3:18). While Jesus Christ was on Earth He demonstrated a grace way of living. Adversity is inevitable but stress is optional. If you have developed a FLOT line in your soul you can live a life free of stress. Problem-solving device number one is rebound—how you deal with the problem of sin. You name your sin to God the Father per 1 John 1:9. Problem-solving device number two, the filling of the Holy Spirit, and using the truth of the Word of God is how you worship God. “The day is coming when you will worship God in Spirit and in truth” (John 4:23). You are mandated to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18). Problem-solving device number 3 is the faith-rest drill. This is you standing on the promises of God and using them as a shield to protect yourself from the strategy of the devil. “Put on the armor of God” (Eph 6:11). This is an amazing resource. It stabilizes your thinking.

We can’t define the image of God. “God is a spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). We tend to create God in our image and then we humanize God. Don’t do this because God is indescribable. “He holds the world in His hands” (John 5 ). God doesn’t have hands but this gives God human characteristics so we can understand the Biblical concepts. We don’t have the perceptibility to understand the place God resides. He is everywhere. There is no time and no space in heaven. “Eye hath not seen, ear hath not heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for this that love Him” (1 Col 2:9). The omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient God loves you. This is amazing!

God loves you. He does not want you to spend eternity baking in the Lake of Fire. The choice is yours. “He that believes on the Son has everlasting life and he that believes not the Son of God shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3:36). Anyone who rejects the Lord Jesus Christ as the anointed Son of God will go to the Lake of Fire. Jesus Christ was judged on the cross for all the sins of mankind. You were purchased out of the slave market of sin. The moment you believe in Jesus Christ and the finished work of Christ on the cross you receive the righteousness of God and now you are acceptable to Him. But if you reject the love gift of Jesus Christ that God offers, then you leave Him no choice and the justice of God will condemn you to the Lake of Fire.

Much of our suffering is self-induced. When we use our volition to go negative to the plan of God and say no to the authority of God this negative volition is a misery manufacturing machine. When we sin and don’t use rebound to recover we get under divine discipline. “Whom the Lord loves He chastens” (Heb 12:6). Divine discipline is punitive action taken by the justice of God to get our action to get back to obedience to His authority. “Do not be deceived, God will not be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap” (Gal 6:7). You can’t live the Christian life if the Holy Spirit is not in control of your life.

You are being observed by God and by angels. Angels learn from us. We have spiritual assets they don’t have. “We have so great a cloud of witnesses observing us” (Heb 12:1). Witnesses are watching you. Are you glorifying God by sustaining your spiritual momentum? “Let us lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us” (Heb 12:1b). Occupation with Jesus Christ is your strength and your motivation to press on in the race. Run your race with patience and perseverance to be the believer God can count on.

You can know with certainty you are going to heaven when you die. “Whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved” (Rom 10:13). “This is written so you may know you have eternal life. He that has the Son has life and he that has not the Son of God has not life” (1 Jn 5:12-13). The issue of being saved is putting your faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. You express this faith to God in prayer. Before we are saved, we are slaves to sins that manipulate and control us. With salvation, you are freed from the chains of sin and find freedom in Jesus Christ and His Word.

If you are being abused as a child or young adult tell someone in authority now, quickly. When a child is abused, it deposits garbage in their sub-conscience. They don’t have the coping skills to handle it. You, as a maturing Christian, know how. Encourage them to take it to the Heavenly Father. Take it to the Supreme Court of Heaven which is open 24 hours a day. Think with a divine viewpoint. Focus on the solutions in the Word of God. A child abuser is “alienated from the plan of God through the ignorance that is in them because of the blindness of their heart” (Eph 4:18). The buildup of scar tissue and the shutdown of the conscience can lead even a Christian to do abnormal perverted things. The remedy to remove scar tissue in your soul is to rebound, stay filled with the Holy Spirit, and learn the Word of God.

God does not tolerate child abuse. Rest assured the Supreme Court of Heaven is open 24/7 and you do not need to take matters into your own hands. God will deal with child abusers. How can someone do such evil as abuse a child? Because they’ve put a callous over their conscience. Their heart is hardened to the point they don't know right from wrong, they have no guilt, and by their arrogance, they justify why they can do what they want to satisfy their emotional needs. “Unto the pure, all things are pure, but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure even in their mind and their conscience is defiled” (Titus 1:5). Child abusers have allowed their sin natures to take control of their souls and their emotions dictate their actions. Their minds are polluted and defiled. God’s justice will prevail.

The tongue is a fire and God does not tolerate a tongue that is not tame. It’s easy to fall into the trap of letting our mouth get us into sin. Judging, maligning, and complaining are all sins of the tongue. If you’ve been treated unjustly or want to complain about someone, take it to the Supreme Court of Heaven open 24/7 and then let it go. Keep your mouth shut. Don’t talk about it. “Judge not so that you be not judged because with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged, and with what measure you measure, it shall be measured to you again” (Matt 7:1-5). This is called triple compound discipline from God. God did not send us to straighten out other people.

God wants you to think a different way—not the way the rest of the world thinks. Divine viewpoint is based on your understanding of the Word of God and relating circumstances in your life to what the Bible says. “Stop thinking in terms of arrogance beyond what you should think but think in terms of humility as God has assigned to each one of us a standard of thinking from His Word” (Rom 12:3). The Bible tells you how to deal with adversity, worry, and fear. Fear is you assuming an unassigned responsibility. “What time I am afraid I will trust in You” (Ps 56:3). The FLOT Line uses the military acronym, as an illustration, to describe how the Christian life works, how you can have a main line of resistance in your soul from learning God’s Word that protects you. God’s 10 unique problem-solving devices can be used as a FLOT line to protect your thinking, so stress doesn’t overrun your soul.

The truth of knowing Jesus Christ sets you free. “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). Truth is in Jesus Christ. “I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6). Truth for us is a divine viewpoint, the thinking of Christ. The Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you to where the truth is. “When the Spirit of truth comes He will guide you into all the truth” (John 13:16). He will do it through the Word of God, the Bible. “The Word of truth” (2 Tim 2:15). Spiritual growth requires thinking and applying the truth of God’s Word in your life.

God offers the way of wisdom through His Word. “I have instructed you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in upright paths.” (Prov 4:11) As you learn and apply God’s Word in your life, this is doctrinal orientation, you acquire divine wisdom which gives you the ability to defeat the strategies of Satan. “With Your counsel You will guide me, and afterward receive me to glory” (Ps 73:24). The Lord Jesus Christ is truth. “And you will know the truth and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32).

There is a better way to live. The Christian life is executing the protocol plan of God. Put simply, it is making good decisions every day based on what the Bible says. You learn and understand God’s protocol plan by studying God’s Word under the ministry of a qualified pastor. “Happy are those who hear My Father’s Word and keep it” (Luke 11:28). Our biggest problem is ourselves, our sinful natures. The key to the spiritual life is staying filled with the Holy Spirit so you are empowered by the Holy Spirit. Spiritual momentum is you hearing and keeping the Word of God. Every problem you will encounter in life has a divine solution recorded in the Bible.

“Let no advantage be taken of us by Satan for we are not ignorant of his devices” (2 Cor 2:11). Jesus Christ used Scripture and the shield of faith to counter the attacks of Satan and defeat him. You have the same and more divine resources to use. There are over 7000 promises in the Bible. Learn some and claim them. “Stand still and watch God deliver you” (Ex 14:13). Watch out for allowing Satan to get you to compromise when you don’t consolidate your spiritual victories with faith and humility. If you allow him to discourage or distract you, you will quit advancing spiritually. Satan is a master deceiver and manipulator. He is good at luring you with human viewpoint thinking and getting you into a frantic search for happiness. You are living in the middle of the angelic conflict. You need to grow up spiritually to win.

“It is no longer I but Christ in me” (Gal 10:20). Satan is always quick to counterattack after a personal spiritual victory. Expect it. Satan is a master at counterattacking. He does it to shift your attention away from God and put your eyes on yourself. Satan and his cosmic system will try to distract you, discourage you and defeat you. He will try to knock you off course in your spiritual advancement. Satan knows your weakest point and that’s where he will attack. He will attack your lust pattern for power, or approbation, or acquiring material things, whatever your weakness is. Focusing on your problem, rather than the divine solution, is never the answer. Once you’re distracted, you’ll get into a frantic search for happiness. Be alert to the distractions of Satan’s world and keep your focus on God. “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus” (Rom 12:3).

Many Christians are asleep spiritually Their rate of forgetting is exceeding their rate of learning. “You know the times in which we are living, thus it is time for you to wake up, our salvation is nearer now than when we first became believers” (Rom 13:11-14). Sleepers are distracted by the details of life, discouraged by adversity, and have lost sight of the hope that is ours in Christ Jesus. As a believer, you have a destiny and an eternal future. You are to replicate the life of Christ. He left us the template - His spiritual life, the life He lived while he was here on earth. The template is to stay filled with the Holy Spirit and use God’s Word. “For to this, you were called because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example that you should follow in His steps” (1 Pet 2:21). When you operate under the plan of God you have four incredible things: wisdom, knowledge, foresight, and understanding.

To live a lifestyle of trust you must learn how to execute the faith-rest drill. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight” (Prov 3:5-6). Faith requires you to learn and trust what God says. Mixing the promises of God with faith is designed to stabilize your mentality under pressure, to make the confusion go away, and to keep stress away. “I will rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindness because You have seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul” (Ps 31:7) God is aware of everything you are going through.

“Take My yoke” and “Learn from Me.” Take My Yoke is your voluntary submission to His direction in your life. Learning from Christ is a mandate for living your spiritual life. The template our Lord Jesus Christ gives you is His life during His earthly ministry. If you learn from Jesus Christ, “you will find rest for your soul” (Matt 11:28-29). Rest from the chains of legalism, rituals without reality, and rules that aren’t in the Bible. Take My yoke requires you to use your volition to study God’s Word, to yoke yourself up to the life and mind of Christ. “Fools destroy themselves because of their indifference but whoever will listen to Me will live without worry and be free from the dread of disaster” (Prov 1:32-33).

Jesus Christ tells us “Follow Me” (Matt 4:19). You are called to follow Him. “For to this you were called because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example that we should follow in His steps” (1 Pet 2:21). Everything Christ wants you to know from his three year earthly ministry is recorded for you in the Bible as an example of how to think and how to live. Our Lord’s life is a template. When you adhere to the protocol plan of God you are putting on the template and it cuts you into the very image of Jesus Christ. The two things that sustained Christ in His humanity will sustain you also, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and guidance from the Word of God, the Bible. Jesus Christ has marked the trail. You can choose to follow His path that He laid out or you can veer into the minefield of life.

Patience is an incredible virtue of a spiritually maturing believer. Patience with people and circumstances. “Knowing this that the trying of your faith produces patience. But let patience have her perfect work that you may be mature and entire, wanting in nothing.” (James 1:3-4). God puts us through testing to produce patience, perseverance, character, and hope. “We glory in our tribulation knowing that this tribulation produces perseverance, and this perseverance produces character and this character hope.” (Rom 5:3-5).

Curiosity is not the same as positive volition. To grow spiritually, you must use your volition, and choose, to study the Word of God consistently. “In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col 2:3). It’s the Word of God that makes you rich in wisdom. “I love those who love me [wisdom], and those who seek me diligently will find me” (Prov 8:17). Faith is required to seek God. A result of seeking Him is you are guaranteed divine protection. You can go through life with a ‘wall of fire’ around you. “Every word of God is pure, He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him” (Prov 30:5). The insight, foresight, knowledge, and understanding our Lord and Savior acquired in His human body we can have also. It’s this same lifestyle He offers you, the unique Christian life if you are a seeker. If you want to learn, to know.

Jesus Christ in His humanity defeated Satan by quoting Scripture, the Bible. Using Scripture is how we survive in the devil’s world. Being absolutely tuned into God’s Word is how you live the Christian life. Christ in His humanity had to grow to spiritual maturity by learning God’s Word and we do too. “Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52). Pastors are designated by God to study and accurately teach God’s Word to us. “God is not the author of confusion” (1 Cor 14:33). the Bible doesn’t contradict itself. “Your Words were found and I did eat them” (Jer 15:16). You need to know and use the Word of God.

We have a national epidemic of lying in America. The motivation for all lying is deception. It’s a pattern of arrogance. The arrogant person seeks to deceive. Lying to self is one of the worst. Lying is listed twice in the seven sins God says He hates. “A lying tongue” (Prov 6:17) and “A false witness that speaks lies” (Prov 6:19). Lying started with Satan who is the father of all lies. Today there is an all-out effort to demonize Christians, marginalize their effectiveness, and stop them from having a voice in the public arena. “Who is the liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ?” (1 John 2:22).

Make your relationship with God and His Word your number one priority. Get under the ministry of a sound pastor, stay filled with the Holy Spirit, learn God’s Word and put it to use in your life, and glorify God to the maximum by re-presenting Jesus Christ. Focus your attention on what the Word of God says and don’t be distracted by all the speculation of the cosmic system and what it will throw at you.

Lying is motivated by deception. Deceptive behavior is based on arrogance. “There is no truth and no knowledge of God in the land” (Hosea 4:1-2). There is a national epidemic of lying in America. “Liars believe liars” (Prov 17:4). Satan is the father of lies and organized religion is based on lies. “He speaks from his own resources, for he’s a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44). Satan’s motivation is to use deception to distract you, to discourage you and to defeat you. As Christians, we are mandated to be honest and truthful with ourselves and each other. “Putting away lying, let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor for we are all members one of another” (Eph 4:25).

You get to know God through Jesus Christ. “I am the way, the truth, and the life and no man can come to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6). You get to understand God by means of staying filled with the Holy Spirit and learning and applying the Word of God (Eph 5:18 and 2 Pet 3:18). If you’re going to understand the God you know, you have to understand the protocol plan of God, how God works. God has a plan. You need to learn it. Spiritual momentum is hearing and keeping the Word of God. Understanding God is taking on the personality profile of our Lord Jesus Christ. Is this you? “The fruit of the Spirit is love and joy and peace and longsuffering and gentleness and meekness and goodness” (Gal 5:22). “Let him who glorifies receive his glory from this, that he understands Me and that he knows Me” (Jer 9:24).
