Black and White Noise returns for the new season with our usual sense of great timing! Recorded on Thursday 15 July, we were just in time to miss our thumping win over Dumbarton, the completion of the club's takeover by new German investors DAFC Fussbal GmbH and the signings of Kai Kennedy and Reece Cole. Oh well. Nonetheless, we had a lot of fun speaking on Zoom with recently added Pars midfielder Dan Pybus, as we discussed the Euros, his career and the nuances of the offside rule. • 14 - Episode 12 - Owain Fôn Williams

One third (and a bit) into the shortened 20/21 season, and with the Pars sitting handily in second place after a great start to the season, followed by a slight (and hopefully temporary) levelling off, we were delighted to be joined by our man between the sticks, goalkeeper Owain Fôn Williams. As usual our chat was conducted through the socially-distanced means of Zoom, as Owain told us about touring the North of England, travelling to the European Championships and putting a footballing superstar in a headlock. The discussion took place on Wednesday 20 January, but post-production was unfortunately delayed, meaning that two more matches (against Ayr and Hearts) have taken place since then. More significantly, the past 11 days have seen the very sad loss of two former Pars stars on the 1960s, Barrie Mitchell and Eddie Connachan. Our deepest sympathies go out to their families. • 13 - Episode 11 - Steven Whittaker

The new season is almost upon us at last, and as fans eagerly await their chance watch the Pars from the comfort of their own homes (steak bridies optional but encouraged), we were delighted to be joined by one of the team's new signings, Steven Whittaker. As with our last episode, our chat with Steven was conducted through the socially-distanced means of Zoom, as he talked about his hopes for DAFC this season and beyond as well as his glittering career for club and country. • 12 - Episode 10 - Ross McArthur & Drew Main ('Come Zoom With Me' or 'A Tale of Two Recording Sessions')

In a return less likely than getting a full refund for those 48 packs of toilet paper, it's the unexpected new episode of Black and White Noise, the official podcast of Dunfermline Athletic Football Club! As the world struggles under the brunt of the coronavirus/SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 crisis the Boys from the Noise return from their accidental exile to add their hopelessly ill-informed tuppenceworths. Helping us keep the debate to the more salient points, we were delighted to be joined by DAFC Chairman Ross McArthur, and board member and Supporters' Liaison Officer Drew Main who talked us through some of the most recent news at the club, and in particular the efforts to avoid the worst of the crisis and the amazing response (again) of Pars fans in supporting our club in a time of need. We were 'led by the science' of course, and met remotely through the wonders of Zoom on 31 March. Reports that Stephen insisted on a custom background featuring an endless loop of Martin Hardie's freekick against the Rovers are unconfirmed at this stage. In fact so much did we enjoy our Zoom chat (and also the immediate rendering of half of it as completely outdated and pointless when the SPFL vote just days later suddenly changed the landscape considerably) that we did it again on Tuesday 28 April! The resulting show is thus cobbled together from those two recording sessions. Hopefully doesn't sound too much like it. Anyway, we hope you enjoy it. Also, is anyone still reading this? Thank you loyal fan, thank you. • 11 - Episode 9 - Greg Shields (recorded May 2019 - yes, it's taken that long...)

If you thought Stevie Crawford Part 2 took a while, that's nothing to the glacial pace of putting together this latest episode of Black and White Noise, the official podcast of Dunfermline Athletic Football Club. We were delighted to be joined by Pars stalwart Greg Shields in late May, shortly after the end of Season 2018/19. Greg talked us through the tumultuous end of the campaign as relegation was avoided and promotion playoffs were briefly flirted with before a dramatic late drop in form left the Pars in mid-table, and discussed plans and hopes for 19/20. So while much has happened since then, we hope you'll enjoy hearing from Shieldsy as Black and White Noise finally gets back underway! Many thanks to: - Greg Shields - Jordan Burt, freelance Sports Reporter - Ross McArthur, Chairman, DAFC - Craig Brown, Media & PR officer and club photographer, DAFC Black and White Noise is produced and hosted by Stephen Dunkerley and Michael Thomas as a voluntary service for DAFC.
