Podcasts by Category
A fortnightly podcast where Gav Smith discussed people's favourite films, clue is in the title. Each episode Gav is joined by a new guest and they discuss their favourite film.
The podcast includes spoliers for pretty much every film we discuss, so if you haven't seen the film, we suggest watching then listening.
Favourite films are an odd one they can change like the weather, but every film featured is someone's favourite and therefore it's a recommendation.
We try to keep the language in the podcast clean but every now and then there may be the odd slip - sorry - I try and mark episodes I know have bad language in them with an "Explicit" tag, but if I miss one, please don't complain, just let me know and I change it.
Thanks

- 72 - Hanky Panky with Nick Roth
This episode is a special one, as Gav talks to Nick Roth, writer, director and star of Hanky Panky which hits streaming platforms 20th April 2024.
It's an odd sci-fi, horror, rom-com, cabin in the snow film with talking extra-dimensional clothing items, like hats and handkerchiefs!
I'll be honest it defies categorisation, find it online and watch it, the podcast is not spoiler filled, but features spoilers - and some bad language...sorry.

Wed, 17 Apr 2024 - 1h 12min - 71 - Trainspotting chosen by Tim Biglowe
This week Choose Life with or Choose Something Else....yes it's Trainspotting from 1996.
I'm joined by Comedian Tim Biglowe from a safe mooring in his canal boat and we talk Trainspotting - the episode itself isn't actually explicit from a language point of view, but I included Ewan McGregor's opening speech from the start of the film and that is. If you want to listen without bad language, skip the 1st 1 minute and 5 seconds.
Enjoy!

Fri, 14 May 2021 - 50min - 3 - The Fall
This week in my birthday edition, I talk to my birthday twin Kirsty Ford (Happy Birthday Kirsty) about the 2006 film The Fall.
Directed by Tarsem Singh (as Tarsem)
Based on the 1981 Bulgarian film Yo Ho Ho written by Valeri Petrov - who does get name checked with a writing credit on this film.
The film is takes place in a hospital on the outskirts of 1920s Los Angeles, where an injured stuntman begins to tell a fellow patient, a little girl with a broken arm, a fantastic story of five mythical heroes. Thanks to his fractured state of mind and her vivid imagination, the line between fiction and reality blurs as the tale advances.
