In Washington, politicians are full of half-truths and hot air. They do little more than grandstanding by spouting off talking points and spin. The Conservative Review with Daniel Horowitz is here to help you cut through the rhetoric and noise and explore the politically right way to think about the issues .

  • 2005 - Conservative Commentators Like to Fight in the Abstract but Never What’s in Front of Them | 4/18/24

There is more pervasive opinion on the Right that the GOP is a fake opposition than ever before. Yet these same commentators refuse to look in the mirror and recognize that they have enabled this for years and continue to do so to this day. They either sleep through the critical legislative fights and primaries or sometimes downright subvert them. I discuss the “code of silence” around pointing any finger at Trump for supporting Ukraine funding, even as everyone gets all red-faced over Speaker Johnson’s betrayal (with Trump’s support). Commentators are starting to acknowledge the red-state RINO problem but fail to see how Trump has re-elected nearly every one of them and continues to do so to this day. These same commentators refuse to get involved in down-ballot primaries, refuse to engage in red-state legislative fights, and refuse to pressure Trump to the right.  Learn more about your ad choices. • 2004 - The Most Important Way to Stop Judicial Tyranny | 4/17/24

First, we make the case for why Speaker Johnson (R-La.) must be removed and why Trump must stop giving him cover. Johnson is about to screw us on Ukraine for no reason. I also explain how he made FISA 702 much worse than current law in a way that expands the NSA's power to almost any business or landowner with internet service onsite. Next, I delve into a monumental concurrence from Justices Gorsuch, Thomas, and Alito on how lower courts do not have the authority to issue universal injunctions. Unless state governors begin adopting this position, everything we seek to accomplish in the red states will be “vetoed” by the forum-shopped liberal judges. Also, I make the case for why I believe Trump is unlikely to win, but even if he does win, his presidency will be neutralized unless we end the practice of universal injunctions.  Learn more about your ad choices. • 2003 - How the Biden Administration Made America the Comms Department for Iran | Guest: Lee Smith | 4/16/24

Now that Republicans surrendered domestic policy to Biden, he has a free lane to mess with Israel’s sovereignty. We’re joined today by Lee Smith of Tablet magazine, who explains how Biden has purposely allied with Iran to imperil Israel and then give the impression that Israel needs him to protect its territory from Iran. Lee makes the case that Israel needs to become independent of U.S. aid while we focus on the Islamization here at home. Israel needs to crush the jihadists in order to tamp down the inspiration for jihad among Americans living here. Unfortunately, Speaker Johnson (R-La.) is playing into the Biden administration’s effort to divide the Right by making Israel about foreign aid and tacking on Ukraine funding rather than countering Biden’s policies against Israel. What Republicans should be doing is using must-pass bills to defund the PLO, the Iran deal, and the Lebanese armed forces, abrogate Biden’s alliance with Qatar, designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terror group, and cut off immigration from Middle Eastern countries. • 2002 - The Trump Press Conference from Hell | 4/15/24

Speaker Johnson (R-La.) once again massacred conservatives on Friday by reauthorizing an expanded version of FISA 702 spying, despite bipartisan support against it. He was the tie vote against requiring a warrant. Yet not only did Trump decline to pressure him, he gave Johnson complete cover at Mar-a-Lago. In addition, Trump held a press conference on Friday promoting Ukraine funding, bashing anti-abortion laws, opposing the motion to vacate the speakership, and promoting Obamacare. I warn that Trump is being compromised by a quest for wealthy donors and that if we don’t work to push him to the right, this dangerous leftward slide will accelerate. I also give baseline thoughts on Iran’s attack on Israel and how the Biden administration is working with Iran and even ordered the attack. Rather than focusing on foreign aid, the GOP House should have used leverage on budgets and reauthorization bills to prohibit Biden’s policies empowering Israel’s enemies.   Learn more about your ad choices. • 2001 - The Insanity of the FISA 702 Spying Program | Guest: Rep. Warren Davidson | 4/12/24

Americans love privacy. There is bipartisan support for requiring a warrant to query any information on Americans swept up in this surveillance program. Why are Republicans allowed to squander that once again? And why aren’t conservatives pressuring Trump to drop his support for Johnson on this issue, as well as Ukraine funding? Later on, we’re joined by Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), one of the pioneers in the fight for privacy, who is trying to force a vote banning the government from purchasing our data from third-party vendors. He explains how the 702 program has proven to be abused and is much broader than people realize. We have a government that openly lets in thousands of dangerous Middle Eastern terrorists and violent Latin American gangs, and then they turn around and demand we authorize domestic spying under the guise of national security. This is anarcho-tyranny at its best.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
