- 528 - Murder She Told - “Harold Butch Knight: Wanted for Murder”
"On Sunday, January 11th, I strangled her... she's dead, and she's laying on the living room floor...
When Allegan County police showed up to the Fennville, MI residence mentioned in the haunting 911 call, they discovered the lifeless body of 48-year-old Sara Lee Knight in the exact condition described by the anonymous caller. Documents, funeral instructions, photos, and personal items of Sara's had been organized and laid out on the table for police to find. The only thing they couldn't find was Sara's husband, Butch.
It didn't take long for police to realize the person who made the call to 911 was 66-year-old Harold "Butch" Knight. Butch had taken Sara's vehicle and skipped town, eventually making his way up to a tiny town in rural Maine. By the time they found Sara's abandoned vehicle, it was too late. They'd lost his trail. Almost a decade later, police are still searching for Butch.

Sun, 01 Mar 2020 - 33min - 456 - The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
On November 10, 1975 one of the best known maritime tragedies in modern history occurred on Lake Superior when the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank during a strong storm. Because I (Nina) have such an emotional reaction to this story, this week's episode was written by Gemma Harris, audio editing by Chaesare Gray. This incident was immortalized in song, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald was written, composed and performed by Gordon Lightfoot, who is out on tour again this year. The story of the Fitz is also taught in some grade school Michigan history classes.
While the podcast gives a history of the ship and details of her last days, there is far more to the lives and stories of these fathers, sons, brothers, husbands and their families. If you’d like to know more, I encourage you to explore the individual stories of the Fitzgerald’s crew, you will find a list of crew members, as well as extensive resources at our website Alreadygonepodcast.com.
