Clonakilty on St Patrick’s weekend means just one thing - the Clonakilty Park Hotel West Cork Rally - First held in 1977, this weekend will be the 44th running of the event. This year is different with the rally being held over 3 days and it will start this afternoon with stages in Ballinascarthy and Rossmore and later in the evening after dark these 2 stages will be repeated. First car in Ballinascarthy at 7.12 and the first car in Rossmore at 6 minutes to 8. All cars will then return to the town centre. Ed Twomey is Chairman of the Local Rally Commitee and is also a local business man. He has been telling us about the marriage between Clonakilty and the Rally.
