She touches on the ADHD management, body dysmorphia, and the impact of multi-level marketing (MLM) culture on self-perception and the importance of balance, sustainable approaches to health, and the rejection of restrictive ideologies, whether in dieting or other aspects of life. Overall, the emphasis of this episode is on creating a positive, empowered mindset that extends to all aspects of life, including personal development, relationships, and overall well-being.
“I realized that in the anti-diet space, I had just as many rules as I did when I was in the diet culture space. And I remember crying to one of my friends on the phone being like, I just want to order a scale, but I'm not supposed to, I'm not supposed to want to change my body, I'm not supposed to want to do any of that. And she reminded me that, you know, this is your life, actually, you can do what you want. And that's when I started breaking all of the rules. And I found my happy little like, gray area, the magical gray area is what I like to call it. And I went on this journey of just trusting myself, trusting my decisions, and really coming from a space of love and not hate”- Ashley Beeman

Past struggles, including addiction, withdrawal from Adderall, and the commitment to share her story to help others.
The conversation transitions to body dysmorphia, with Ashley defining it as perceiving one's body differently from reality. She shares her personal struggle, emphasizing the importance of deep work, self-love, and acceptance.
The intensification of body dysmorphia to her involvement in multi-level marketing (MLM), where the focus on body transformations for business purposes contributed to negative body image.

She also talks about her experience in overcoming burnout and achieving a healthier, more fulfilling life. She delves into the impact of burnout on physical and mental health and the importance of solitude and self-reflection, shifts in perspective, embracing emotions, and making lifestyle changes. Michelle's story highlights the transformative power of reconnecting with one's values, engaging in self-care, rebuilding relationships, and ultimately pursuing a career aligned with one's passions. This episode underscores the potential for positive change and growth even in the face of significant challenges.
“Being on my own was a very foreign thing for me, because I constantly had surrounded myself with lots of people. And I think I had done that looking back very deliberately because I was people-pleaser, I needed validation. And that meant having people around me. So being on my own really helps me start to untangle a lot of my thoughts and process a lot of those thoughts and then start to really connect back with my feelings.”- Michelle Gordon
Key highlights:
Coping with burnout by turning to alcohol as a means of escape, leading to a cycle of overworking, overcompensating, and people-pleasing.
Seeking help from a life coach, shifting her perspective on life and taking back control over her destiny.
The healing process involved identifying and aligning with her core values, recognizing the importance of health, freedom, and family, which she had neglected while defined solely by her nursing identity.
Through fitness, self-reflection, and reconnection with emotions, she regained mental clarity, leading to positive changes in her overall well-being.
Michelle stopped using alcohol as a coping mechanism, faced the discomfort of feeling her emotions, and found solace in practices like weightlifting and beach walks. Her relationship with alcohol transformed, allowing her to enjoy a beer without the need for escapism.
Learning to be present, savoring small moments, and appreciating the beauty around. This mindfulness contributed to her overall sense of joy and well-being.
Michelle's personal experience enables her to empathize with others facing burnout, helping them navigate the challenges and rediscover a sense of self.

Wed, 06 Dec 2023 - 51min - 28 - 27. Blended Family Dynamics: Co-parenting and Effective Communication Strategies
Welcome to another episode of the Healing and Dealing podcast! Brittney Phillips joined me in this new episode to talk about navigating the complexities of a blended family, the conflicts and the challenges. She delves more into the dynamics of a blended family based on her own personal experiences. We discuss co-parenting relationships, parenting styles, dealing with past traumas, creating memories as a blended family, and the importance of working through challenges to strengthen relationships within the family. We talk about balancing time between the biological and the stepchildren, sometimes feeling guilty when prioritizing time with our biological son over our stepsons. This episode underscores the significance of acknowledging and addressing past traumas, adopting effective co-parenting strategies, and working collaboratively to create a positive and nurturing environment for all family members. Overall, the takeaway is a message of resilience, growth, and the possibility of building fulfilling family dynamics in the context of blended families.
“It's such a tricky position to be in to be the step parent. I think most of the time the stepmom is not trying to take over, they're just trying to be a person in their life. Right. And so having some understanding for that can be helpful. That's when we get in trouble is when we start to feel jealousy or like either way from the biological mom or from the stepmom. But what I recommend to my clients is like, let's get curious. Why are we feeling jealous? Are we feeling insecure? Like what's coming up for us? Because this actually isn't a problem over here. It's a problem here in my heart, in me that I need to deal with. So that's kind of the biggest suggestion I would make.” -Brittney Phillips
Key takeaways:
Blended families come with unique challenges, including navigating different parenting styles, addressing past traumas, and fostering new relationships.
Open and honest communication is crucial in addressing issues within blended families.
Effective co-parenting is essential. This involves collaboration between parents to ensure consistency in parenting styles, discipline, and decision-making for the well-being of the children.
Recognizing and addressing past traumas, both for parents and children, is important for healing and building a healthy family environment.
Creating a positive and nurturing environment is a shared responsibility. Family members can work together to cultivate an atmosphere where everyone feels supported and valued.
The discussion touches on the feeling of guilt that can arise when trying to balance time between biological and stepchildren. The speaker shares personal experiences of feeling guilty when spending time with her biological son and highlights the need to overcome societal judgments
The need to balance different parenting styles, address feelings of favoritism, and navigate the dynamics of having both biological and stepchildren.
The challenge of stepchildren interpreting requests or discipline differently than biological children.

But in the work that I do, which is kind of this realm of trauma and consciousness and where they intersect. And ultimately, it's just this part of ourselves where we haven't felt safe or you know, this connection within to something bigger than ourselves where there's a fragment. In another episode of the Healing and Dealing Podcast, Aspen Arora joins me to talk about her deeply personal and challenging life experiences, particularly her struggles with mental health, trauma, and the inadequate support she received within the military healthcare system. Aspen shares her distressing encounters during a medical evacuation and subsequent treatment in a psychiatric facility. Aspen highlights the lack of proper mental health care, understanding, and compassion within these systems. Despite her ordeal, Aspen expresses her determination to use her experiences to advocate for change, emphasizing the need for accessible healing services and a shift in societal attitudes toward pain and trauma.
Listen and be inspired by Aspen's resilience, her mission to bring awareness to these issues, and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others who have faced similar challenges.
There are five main themes to trauma: work, safety, power, control, intimacy, esteem, and then there's a fifth one, trust, that’s the fifth one. When those things have been violated by a trauma, especially a capital T trauma, when you enter into a new relationship, a new agreement, with that on the table, and then you're met with anything but healing, you're effectively re-traumatizing somebody and yanking in and reinforcing, already believed thoughts, feelings, behaviors, because it keeps being repeated to you. So again, this is not about wasting time, this is very much like it is unsafe.”- Aspen Arora
Here are the key points to dig in this episode:
The Spiritual awakening, reconnecting with her spirituality and Celtic Druid roots and how spiritual journey helped her cope with the pain and darkness she experienced.
A traumatic medical evacuation experience, the lack of proper medical attention, and feeling trapped in a nightmare.
Challenges with the accessibility of appropriate mental health Care
The importance of spiritual wellness and finding healing modalities that resonate personally.
Aspen’s experiences fueled her passion for advocacy. She expressed her mission to change the narrative around pain, promote community support, and ensure access to healing services for everyone. She aims to shed light on overlooked issues and encourage societal change.
Healing services for veterans and active duty.

Welcome to another episode of the Healing and Dealing Podcast. This episode is going to be exciting because my mentor, Erin Porter, is joining me today and she will talk about how she helps women scale through trauma informed business practices, internal healing and understanding the energetics of business. She also talks about childhood attachment experiences and their impact on current relationships and the importance of pacing in your healing journey. The discussion also highlights the role of self-compassion, curiosity, and celebration in the healing journey, as well as the importance of doing your own inner work before helping others as a coach or guide.
“I think everybody wants to leave their source of income like really quick and like go you know, quote, unquote, go all in and like, utilize the funds that you have coming in from a full time job or a part time job to like invest back into your business to know that your nervous system safe versus like growing yourself in this fight or flight. Because then I think what happens is if things don't happen, or you know, things turn or it's not going as fast, then you get resentful, then you get frustrated, then you get overwhelmed. And it's like give yourself and your nervous system like this space that you need in order to be able to work through it. So I say like, that was a big thing to where I let myself be okay with it versus again, thinking that oh, that means I'm not you know, good enough, or that means I'm not doing or I'm not going to be successful and all that.”- Andrea Shipley
Here are the key topics discussed in this episode:
People-pleasing habits to avoid discomfort and conflict that led to health issues and emotional struggles.
The impact of anxious attachment style to your relationships and recognizing the importance of pacing in your healing journey.
Attachment therapy helps establish boundaries and understand your worth beyond achievement.

Navigating Uncomfortable Moments by regulating the nervous system and learning to be comfortable with discomfort.
Learning to navigate social situations without relying on coping mechanisms like alcohol. Curiosity, celebration of achievements, and self-compassion play crucial roles in this process.
The significance of coaches doing their own inner work. Personal growth and self-awareness are foundational for coaches to guide others effectively.

So it's a huge deal to me. This is a double celebration because I am also celebrating one year of being alcohol-free. It still surprises me to think I have survived living without alcohol for a year. In this episode, I am going to reflect on my experiences with alcohol and how giving it up led to significant positive changes in my life, my childhood experiences, attachment styles, and the impact of my upbringing on my adult relationships, and the importance of self-love, healing, and embracing vulnerability to overcome past traumas and build meaningful connections with others. “There have been so many times where I've thought in the past that I won't ever get to the place that I want to be because of what I've been through. And that is just completely wrong. Now I understand that all of that that I've been through, is a motivator. And it's a catalyst for me to do bigger and better things. And I don't have to be a victim of the trauma I've been through, I don't have to play small and play into that part of just someone who's poor, someone who's on autopilot, someone who doesn't do any healing work, I don't have to stay in that. I've already grown so much, I've already conquered so much just in this short time of having the podcast that the sky's the limit. And it's not just the limit for me, it's the limit for everyone.”
In this episode, let’s delve into:

Wed, 04 Oct 2023 - 59min - 19 - 18. Overcoming Childhood Trauma, Toxic Relationships, and Addiction through Self-love and Self-acceptance
You have to let go of everybody’s crap that they stored in your brain. Now that you are a grown adult, you have the freedom to reprogram yourself. There’s a great power in self-love and self-acceptance. In today’s episode, Paola Rosser joins me to talk about her journey from being in an abusive family growing up and an abusive ex-partner causing her trauma and leading her to her dark period to finding an unexpected love and achieving every single thing in her vision board. Paola describes her own healing journey, which included dealing with past trauma, paying off debt, and untangling deep-seated belief systems from her childhood. She emphasizes the importance of personal growth and healing. She will delve into the various healing methods she used to address her past trauma and emotional baggage. Also, the importance of reprogramming your brain to overcome negative thought patterns. Join us as we laugh and cry to her journey towards healing and dealing with her past trauma.
“I never experienced unconditional love. It was as if you were putting oil into water. And that's what it's going to feel like when you're standing in front of the mirror looking at yourself and saying, I am beautiful. I am smart. I am capable, I am talented. I am deserving, I am worthy. I am enough. If you do that every single day at first is going to feel weird. I guarantee it. But after a while, it's going to start reprogramming your brain. Yeah. And what happens is when you start reprogramming your brain, our brains are these beautiful things that are emitting frequency all the time. And people don't understand that this is a frequency you're always emitting a frequency. If you start to become aware of people's frequencies. If you go into a local bar at like, one o'clock in the morning, just don't even drink, don't do anything. Just go in there and sit by yourself and feel the frequencies that are coming off of people. One o'clock in the morning, a local dive bar, you'll feel that they are at the lowest frequency.”- Paola Rosser
In this episode, we’ll breakdown:
Emotional abuse and its long-term effects.
Toxic relationships, self-regulation, and personal growth.
Overcoming addiction and depression.
Journey to recovery after a traumatic event, including their use of a gratitude journal to shift their mindset and find positivity.
Overcoming hardships and finding gratitude.

Wed, 27 Sep 2023 - 1h 03min - 18 - 17. The AF Couple with Xiomara
Welcome to the new episode of the Healing and Dealing Podcast. In this episode, Xiomara is joining me to talk about her life and her partner who decided to go alcohol-free back in February 2022. Xiomara shares how the alcohol impacted the dynamics of their relationship with her partner and her relationships with her friends and family. We will delve into the topic about the positive changes in their lives after being alcohol-free and the alcohol-free bachelorette party she organized. She will also talk about how the Euphoric Program helped her recognize the growth-oriented mindset needed for personal development and creating sober spaces and communities for others. Listen and be inspired by the transformative journey of Xiomara and her partner towards sobriety.
“I think we've definitely learned healthier coping mechanisms. So it's not about, you know, numbing your feelings anymore. It's about feeling your feelings and learning how to deal with the hard feelings in a healthy way, rather than numbing and turning to alcohol. So just to bounce off of that, yeah. But for me, my relationships, for the most part, have improved. I'm not going to say, you know, I think most people who go alcohol-free do have to deal with losing some relationships. You know, some of them for sure probably I was tolerating because I was drinking. And so when you quit drinking, especially like, early on, I really needed to be in healthy relationships. And I wasn't going to accept being mistreated anymore. And so there was like, one major relationship where I was like, I'm sorry, but I can't continue my relationship, essentially. And so that was a big one. And this was a pretty major family member. So that's been difficult. But again, it's kind of just like for your own peace of mind and mental health. And just, if it's getting to the point where I'm just like, so depressed from this person that I'm like, contemplating my own drinking habits, and like turning that then like, I can't have that person in my life.”- Xiomara

Wed, 20 Sep 2023 - 36min - 17 - 16. Nurturing Intimacy: How Somatic Work Can Heal Relationships with Becky Aste
Welcome back to another episode of the Healing and Dealing Podcast. I am joined today by Becky Aste, a trauma-informed marriage coach. In this episode, Becky will share her personal journey and experiences in repairing a struggling marriage after years of research and various healing modalities. We will also delve into the importance of somatic work and nervous system regulation in healing and improving relationships, especially in the context of couples dealing with trauma and attachment issues. Any trauma can be repaired and healed if both individuals are dedicated to putting in the work. I am encouraging you to explore somatic work as a valuable tool for healing, improving relationships, and building a deep connection with oneself.
“And so what the modern, especially Western psychology, mental health world people will say, If your marriage is not working go to therapy, go to couples counseling, read this book, listen to this podcast, I am a fan of all of those things, I'm not downing them. But if that's all, the only modalities that you're using, you're only working with 20% of the way that your body's designed. So you're gonna feel like a salmon swimming upstream. And you know, spend years spinning your wheels at best, or at worst, I see a lot of clients. And this was part of my journey too where you can end up getting re-traumatized, because of how much you're replaying the past and staying stuck. The body work, you know, somatic work, or nervous system regulation, those are kind of words to describe working with that 80% of natural flow messages. And so that's the suggestion, you know, the advice I give is just like, please learn how to get into the body and move trauma out because your body has kept the score of all the trauma that you've survived. And so that's where I would begin.”- Becky Aste
The key points of the episode:
The importance of somatic work in dealing with trauma. Somatic work involves focusing on the body's responses and sensations to address emotional and psychological issues. It helps individuals move trauma out of their bodies and find a sense of safety and connection.
Attachment Styles that played a significant role in the relationship dynamics. Becky mentioned that she identified with an anxious attachment style, while her husband exhibited traits of an avoidant attachment style.
Learning to reconnect with your intuition, trust yourself, and prioritize your well-being.
The conversation raises the question of whether couples who both have traumatic experiences can have a successful relationship. The answer suggests that healing and repair are possible if both partners are dedicated to doing the work.
Somatic work and nervous system regulation are powerful tools for healing trauma. These approaches involve understanding and addressing how the body responds to trauma and stress.
The importance of self-love and self-acceptance. Becky's breakthrough moment involved sincerely telling herself, "I love you," and believing it. This self-love journey positively impacted her self-esteem and relationship.
The growing awareness and acceptance of somatic work as a powerful tool for healing and personal growth. They hope that it becomes more widely recognized and accessible.

This episode emphasizes the importance of communication, understanding, and acceptance within a blended family, while also touching on themes of personal growth, parental support, and the complexities of parenting through different life stages.
“I think the one thing a parent needs to know is just let your kid be who they want to be not what you want them to be, not what you like, fantasize about what your kid is going to be or something. Let them figure out what they want to do, be there for them and help them get to that place. And it's always gonna come back and better to the parent or to you. It's not going to resolve in a bad way. Like the kid is gonna respect you. And like all that, like, that's why I respect my dad so much. And I respect you guys.”- Irie
Key takeaways from the conversation:
The complexities of family dynamics, relationships, and blended families.
The challenges and growth involved in parenting and step-parenting.

The importance of respect in relationships, how someone treats you when they're angry or upset, and the idea that respect can be both earned and lost.
The negative aspects of seeking validation through social media, especially when people post content for attention and approval.
Allowing children to develop their own identities and aspirations, rather than trying to mold them into a predetermined ideal. Trust is a critical element in parent-child relationships.

Wed, 06 Sep 2023 - 50min - 15 - 14. “Do What Scares You the Most”: Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone
In another episode of the Healing and Dealing Podcast, Kady Romagnuolo is joining me to share her life and what led her to building her beautiful empire for herself and the people surrounding her. Kady will share her journey from overcoming childhood trauma, anxiety, and self-doubt to building a successful business and finding fulfillment in life. She also talks about her journey of self-discovery, stepping out of her comfort zone, and embracing her passion to create a successful career and life. The overall message of this episode revolves around self-discovery, personal growth, and the transformative power of sharing personal stories. We encourage listeners to overcome limiting beliefs, embrace your own stories, and recognize the potential impact you can have on yourself and others by sharing your experiences.
“The moment in which you actually share those pieces that you feel that you couldn't, is when we start to make integration and resolution on them. And we get this outside perspective all of a sudden when we say it out loud like the first time I said I'm really struggling with anxiety to a stranger. And it felt really icky for me to say but the moment I did it started to transfer all of those old feelings outside of me, so that I could then make the connections I needed to meet the people I needed to. And it is part of the stepping stone to being on the other side where you feel like you can authentically share that story. And then you'll have another story of something else that you've gone through that I feel like I don't know if I can share that part of my story. Yes. And you'll move through that journey of finding a way to do it, because you know that it is going to make a difference for someone else. And because it is going to make a difference for you personally, in doing it as well.” - Kady Romagnuolo
This episode highlights the following key takeaways:
Everyone's journey is unique. Overcoming childhood trauma, battling anxiety and depression, and facing challenges that hinder personal progress.
The importance of pushing past fears and taking action, even when feeling nervous, is highlighted as a way to overcome limitations and unlock personal potential.
Even accomplished individuals experience self-doubt. Overcoming these feelings involves recognizing them, reframing thoughts, and focusing on the excitement and growth that come from challenges.
The concept of aligning with moon phases to navigate life and business; working with the natural cycles of the moon.
The importance of discovering one's passion and purpose; explore what truly lights you up and pursue it with enthusiasm.
The significance of building confidence by taking small steps, embracing discomfort, and giving yourself permission to rest.
Success is not a one-size-fits-all concept. It's about finding what aligns with one's unique journey and passions.
The power of storytelling and vulnerability. It can inspire others who may be going through similar experiences and can contribute to personal healing and growth.
Sharing personal stories can lead to healing by providing an opportunity for integration and resolution of past experiences.

Wed, 30 Aug 2023 - 50min - 14 - 13. A Path to Inner Healing and Growth with Life Coach Tammy Ward
Joining us in today’s episode of Healing and Dealing podcast is Tammy Ward, a life coach, personal development coach and a transformation and spiritual coach. She will share her journey towards personal growth, self-discovery and energy management. In this conversation, we will highlight the importance of moving away from a victim mentality and embracing empowerment by reframing one's perspective on past traumas and challenges. This episode will emphasize the significance of self-love, self-care, and inner healing as key components of personal development. We will also touch on the practice of being present in the moment, releasing attachments to negative energies, and actively choosing how to respond to life's circumstances. Additionally, the conversation underscores the significance of playful and positive self-interactions, acknowledging the impact of external energies on one's emotional state, and provides strategies for maintaining a balanced energy field. Overall, the conversation encourages self-awareness, mindfulness, and adopting practices that facilitate emotional and spiritual growth.
“Everyone is different, as a personal development, as a transformation and spiritual development Coach, I would definitely say the first thing is to understand, do I still want to be a victim? So first and foremost, you need to ask yourself, Am I a victim? Do I still want to be a victim. And if you really can get into those questions, you can really understand where you're putting your energy, because everything is energy. So even though situations are energy, and if you keep attached to them, they're going to stay with you. And so meditation would be good, as you know, a meditative state of going back. So a lot of times you can have a journey, what we call it, and that shaman practitioner world is having a journey or daydream, whichever one, you want to call it, people call it a different thing. And you go back to that memory, you just go back to that memory and you allow yourself that power in that moment. So maybe you are too young to speak up for yourself or maybe you are too young to fight back. You know, it's about taking that moment and not creating anger, but create a space of like, you no longer affect me. Your words, your fist, your energy no longer affects me. And once you make that choice, that it doesn't affect you, then you can move on, you can then begin to see the power that lives within.” -Tammy Ward
The key takeaways from this episode:
Tammy Ward's mantra is to embrace life boldly and guide others to do the same.
The process of transitioning from a victim mentality to an empowered perspective by releasing attachment to past traumas and reframing their experiences.
The significance of mindfulness and being present in the moment, the value of being fully engaged in each moment and making conscious choices.
The practice of positive self-talk and self-love is emphasized. Tammy encourages starting the day with affirmations like "I love you" and "Thank you." This practice promotes a positive mindset and fosters a healthy relationship with oneself.
Tammy's journey from a 24-year military career to becoming a life coach and healer demonstrates the transformative power of healing and personal growth.
External factors, such as conflicts with family members like their mother, can greatly impact their energy. They describe an incident when a conflict with their mother resulted in a sudden drop in their energy and a flood of negative thoughts.
The importance of self-awareness and self-questioning during times of emotional shifts. They mention questioning why they are feeling a certain way and how understanding the "how" of dealing with negative emotions can be more helpful than fixating on the "why."

And it was such a limiting belief, alcohol never made me more confident was only deteriorating my self esteem over time and making me more insecure. But also finding that that's a state that I cultivate within through competence, through practice through building up that skill. And every time I outsourced it to alcohol, I was telling myself Karolina you're not good enough, you're not interesting, nobody wants to talk to you. But here drink this drink. And then you'll be better, you know, and how, like, how deteriorating that really can be for like a young woman's confidence for sure.” - Karolina Rzadkowolska
This episode emphasizes:
The importance of showing self-love by taking care of one's future self, a way to rebuild trust and respect for yourself.

Wed, 16 Aug 2023 - 49min - 12 - 11. Breaking Free: Navigating Societal Expectations on an Alcohol-Free Journey with Chrissy Janiga
Welcome to the new episode of the Healing and Dealing podcast. Becoming alcohol-free, newfound creativity, vacations without drinking, and reflections about Mommy Wine Culture, those are the topics we will be talking about today with the author of a children’s book entitled Miranda Learns the Art of Not Fitting In, Chrissy Janiga. Chrissy bravely shares her story of overcoming alcohol addiction while navigating through the challenges of motherhood. The conversation lands on the discussion about the impact of alcohol on parenting, their experiences with personal growth and development, and their plans to coach and support others on their journey to live alcohol-free. Chrissy's inspiring journey reminds us of the importance of self-discovery and making positive changes in our lives. And the importance of authenticity, self-awareness, personal growth, and the power of supportive relationships in pursuing a fulfilling and meaningful life.
“So I think that this trip solidified it for me and just everything I'm doing, that I'm on the right track. No, I don't want to drink again. And I say it much more proudly, confidently now. In the beginning, it wasn't. One, because I didn't know I was a little bit ambivalent. But also, even when I stopped drinking, I still was a little concerned about what people would think. Now I don't care. This is who I am. And I'm happier this way. So, it took me a little bit of time. And I think that the beautiful part of all this, it doesn't have to be this perfect story. And you can kind of choose how you want to do it. But I think that, you know, my advice is when we listen to ourselves, when we, on repeat, say we want to change this thing we think about it over and over and over again. Put some action to it. You don't have to know how everything's gonna turn out. Just gonna start doing it at some point.” - Chrissy Janiga
Interesting points in this episode:
Where did it all start for you? The biggest thing that she really has to highlight is that when you give the alcohol, a lot of people do feel better, but that doesn't mean they stop working on the things they need to work on.
Mindset shifts and alcohol. You don't have to be miserable to want to change your relationship with alcohol. It's just about being more aware of the relationship with it.
Getting to know yourself again. How removing the alcohol showed her what she actually likes to do and what she doesn't like to do.
The problem with mommy wine culture. Women are like walking billboards for big alcohol. Mommy wine culture is similar to cigarette culture and cigarette history.
Dealing with rejection from close friends.
The importance of feminism and alcohol.
How to talk to your kids about alcohol? There is a really good podcast on this naked mind called how to talk to your kids about alcohol. It is age-appropriate and helpful for people who have made bad choices while drinking in front of their kids.
How to put action to your intuition? Put some action to it. You don't have to know how everything's going to turn out, just start doing it at some point. The universe starts really working with you instead of against you.

We would get into arguments because I would be sensitive, deflecting, being defensive, when we would talk about more serious things, or even just basic conversation with that heightened emotion and that heightened state that I was in. One point, I was like, I can't do this anymore. This is affecting the love of my life. And like, yeah, I want to grow this relationship. And I want to grow for me too.”

“During that sober curious period like I kept testing the waters I think for me when I noticed that I wanted to kind of cut back it was like I couldn't have just one, that fun, that enjoyment, that relaxation was gone. It was like my off switch was gone. And so what I tell people now is like, well, I know I can't just have one so I choose to have none. And that may change in the future. I don't know, I don't have a good excuse right now to test it. I'm enjoying this life right now.”

Wed, 26 Jul 2023 - 49min - 9 - 08. Exploring the Impact of Childhood Trauma: Breaking Free and Healing
Sometimes you have to tell your story over and over again, because you take the power out of the trauma and the more you hear yourself, telling your story and being transparent about it, you empower yourself again. In today’s episode of Healing and Dealing Podcast, we are joined by Nicole and we will hear her story about her struggles with PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and insomnia. She was diagnosed with postpartum depression after her first daughter. She also talks about the abusive and violent experiences she endured, starting from childhood and continuing into adulthood and how the normalization of trauma affected her self-perception and relationships. The discussion delves on to the importance of high self-awareness and accountability to help you navigate with the complexities of having PTSD and depression. She has been digging, learning and listening deeply to overcome her trauma. God has been her lead and the only way she has been able to overcome these things she has encountered.
“And when I started breaking those things down and trying to clear out the hoarding, what depression is, because on lockdown, it's too much happening, body freezes up. And depression can serve a good purpose. Because it's your body speaking. People say, I'm depressed in a negative way. But it's like, sometimes your depression is from this overload. And it seems I'm tired. I'm so tired. And I realized that when I was saying depression, or anxiety or PTSD, my brain is really doing a magnificent thing here. It's trying to heal. But I'm not going along with the program here. When I needed to start being identifying it as a positive for myself, am I really suffering? If my body's trying to tell me the right things to do to heal itself? I'm not listening. When am I going to stop that trauma response of fight or flight survival mode, staying busy, never allowing yourself to sit down, overloading yourself with people, places and things. It was like, I got to start saying no to all this. Because I was always just running after the next person but not taking on my problem. Yes. And it was like, When am I going to stop doing that? Because they're the answer to their own problem.”
Nicole
Nicole’s mission to help others. Sharing her story to empower the next person.
How she became the voice of her family. Love for the little girl who went through that, being conditioned in a violent environment.
Standing up for yourself and being strong. The need to prove to herself that she was stronger than them and that no one could break her.
Being a mom and having a baby. Diagnosed with Postpartum depression and borderline psychosis. The first signs of postpartum psychosis.
How to deal with triggers? Being self-aware and recognizing triggers is hard and the importance of self-awareness, body-scanning and breathing.
Breaking generational cycles of trauma and dysfunction is a powerful and necessary journey.
Learning to find safety within oneself and building a sense of security and trust is crucial for healing from trauma. Recognizing that the past doesn't define the present and creating a safe internal space can lead to greater well-being.
Sharing personal stories and experiences can empower both the storyteller and the listener. It can provide insight, healing, and connection, allowing others to learn and grow from one's journey.
Wed, 19 Jul 2023 - 1h 07min - 8 - 07. Money, Healing, and Fulfillment: Exploring the Path to Financial Peace
The ultimate goal as a financial coach is to empower individuals to cultivate a healthy relationship with money, unlock their financial potential and create lives of abundance, purpose and fulfillment. Joining us in today’s episode of Healing and Dealing Podcast is the co-founder of Peace Lily Financial Coaching, a dedicated Spiritual Financial Coach with a strong foundation in accounting, Marissa Gehrt. Listen as she shares her valuable insight about the intersection of spirituality and finances, emphasizing the importance of healing, reframing beliefs, and cultivating a healthy relationship with money for a life of abundance and purpose. She also shares how to empower children to make thoughtful financial choices, understand the value of money, and cultivate a mindset of abundance and gratitude.
“And if I want it, and I really want it, I'm gonna get it. And I don't feel bad and I don't feel guilty and I know the universe is gonna replenish me with more. And that's okay. And there's always more, and there's more than enough for all of us. Allowing that guilt to come in that like, when you change from not having enough to having enough that guilt creeps in that and not allowing it to sit. Just because you have it or I have, it doesn't mean that somebody else can't. And sharing your experiences and supporting the people that are still in those places, it's gonna keep giving you more, and it's gonna allow everybody to get where they want to go.” - Marissa Gehrt
Highlights of this episode:
The importance of healing one's relationship with money and understanding the impact of spirituality on financial goals and inner values.
The significance of reframing our mindset around money, understanding our worth beyond material possessions, and finding gratitude in the present moment.
Sit with your feelings about money, release judgment and comparison, and focus on what truly feels good and aligned with your values.
It's necessary to have conversations with kids about financial matters, but in a way that doesn't instill fear or burden them with adult traumas or experiences.
Using tools like a children's debit card system (in this case, "Greenlight") can help manage kids' money and teach them financial skills.
differentiate between wants and needs and help children understand the difference. By involving them in the decision-making process and making them responsible for purchasing their desired items, they can learn to prioritize and make more thoughtful choices.
Financial conversations should be approached with a united front between parents.

True healing can only occur with a continuous work of understanding, letting go and replenishing with the highest light, this is what Melanie Esperan believes. Melanie joins us for this week’s episode of Healing and Dealing Podcast. She shares how her trauma in her past, including the loss of her significant other led to an awakening and a desire to be true to herself. This week’s episode is about the transformative power of surrender, self-discovery, and embracing spirituality. It highlights the significance of letting go of control, being open to guidance from the spiritual realm, and trusting in divine timing. Through this process, people can heal from trauma, tap into their intuitive abilities, and unlock their true potential.
“Because I used to think, Oh, give up do nothing. That's not really what surrender means to me. Now, it's more of do all that you possibly can as a human, and then you surrender the rest to spirit or to God, or the higher ups, whatever you really believe in. It's kind of like saying plan your wedding to the T but if it rains, let it go. If it rains, it rains, and we dance in the rain. And what tends to happen is when you surrender that piece of you, Spirit does their job, and they make sure everything's perfect for you.” - Melani Esperan
Key takeaways from this episode:
Being born an old soul is a gift. you get comfortable with the uncomfortable or you start to love yourself or accept yourself. Your gifts naturally come out And they come out with love. I love it. Yeah, it takes time.
Honoring your sensitivities. Healers usually have some addictive problems trying to mask themselves for so long.
The concept of spirit guides and a spirit team is introduced, representing supportive beings from the spiritual realm who can offer guidance and assistance.
Developing psychic abilities and intuition requires practice, self-discovery, and letting go of societal conditioning.
Personal growth and awakening can be overwhelming at times, but it is important to slow down, feel the process, and trust in divine timing.
Removing alcohol can help in feeling emotions and experiencing personal growth.
The importance of choice and individual agency in deciding whether or not to engage in certain behaviors, like drinking alcohol.
Transformative energy of 2023, a powerful year, everyone’s truly going to learn what divine feminine and masculine are.

It's not like you're gonna forget what they did, but you can neutralize the energy around what they did. You don't have to let that person back into your life. You don't ever have to let anyone treat you or do those things to you again, IT BECOMES WISDOM INSTEAD OF A WALL.” - Natalie

Intuition is the guidance from the soul, the wiser and eternal part of ourselves connected to the universe.
Intuition can be experienced through gut feelings, physical sensations, visions, downloads, or clear hearing.
Building a relationship with intuition takes practice and discerning between ego-driven thoughts and soul guidance.
Our soul automatically aligns with what we want to manifest, and intuition guides us toward the right path and lessons.

Wed, 21 Jun 2023 - 53min - 4 - 03. Alcohol Free Journey
In episode three of my podcast, I share a deeply personal journey of overcoming my reliance on alcohol. I take my listeners back to a time when I was in a low point in my life, both mentally and physically, and I explain the steps I took to break free from the hold that alcohol had on me. From a young age, I had developed beliefs that alcohol was necessary for socializing and having fun, and these beliefs became deeply ingrained in me. However, I had moments of sobriety, like during my pregnancy, where I felt clear-minded and joyful without alcohol. But after giving birth, I fell back into drinking and validated my limiting beliefs, feeling like I needed alcohol to be likable, confident, and relaxed. It wasn't until recently that I realized the shame and negative impact alcohol was having on my life, and I embarked on a journey of letting go of that shame and debunking my limiting beliefs. I joined a program called "The Path," which helped me understand the truth about alcohol and provided tools to regain control over my drinking. Through reflection and analysis, I confronted the reality that alcohol didn't actually bring me fun, confidence, or relaxation, but instead led to negative consequences. I set emotional-based goals and envisioned a life without the control of alcohol. With a firm line in the sand and a determination to no longer tolerate the harmful effects of drinking, something finally clicked, and I began my journey toward freedom from alcohol.
Episode Highlights
Remembering the early experiences, trying to fit in, and having fun.
Realizing the impact of limiting beliefs on my behavior.
Discovering sobriety during pregnancy, experiencing newfound clarity and joy.
Learning to let go, practicing forgiveness, and embracing self-compassion.
Empowering myself by challenging and replacing limiting beliefs.
Exposing the truth about alcohol and debunking common misconceptions.
Embracing a sober-curious mindset and joining "The Path" of sobriety.
Understanding the physiological effects of alcohol and its impact on me.
Setting firm boundaries and committing to a fulfilling, alcohol-free life.
"Through the darkness of addiction, I found the strength within to step into the light of sobriety and reclaim my life." - Charlotte
