We will talk about his recent announcement to make a run for DC as a Congressman to replace Mike Gallagher and keep things on a conservative trajectory. His many committees and the legislation he is responsible for involves pro-life issues and protecting our kids' minds. We discuss ESG and the woke agenda, human trafficking, borders, sanctuary cities, inflation - pretty much everything we are all grappling with, whatever state you might find yourself in. How do we get them to understand that it's all designed to destroy kids' hearts and minds? Is it a case of "at least I'm not on drugs, Mom" kind of reasoning? Through twenty eight years living in Zimbabwe, and numerous visits to Africa, Eastern Europe and India as a ministry administrator and resource person for church conferences and leadership training events, Don has acquired a wealth of international, cross cultural ministry experience. As the world becomes more and more of a global village, Don’s greatest passion is to reach people for Jesus Christ and to bring them into the Church. The harvest is ripe; the workers are few.

At the very least, parents should be empowered to choose how and what their children learn, whether it is through the public schools, private schools, or homeschooling. The recent pandemic shone a light on just how much the parents of government school kids had lost touch with what was going on in the classroom. We chat about the blueprint for removing federal mandates over education, and how to engage governors and state legislators on the issue. And yet many Jews committed to a rebuilt temple surely must understand what it's construction, and the reinstatement of animal sacrifice will portend. And yet, God's Word promises that temple. We open up with some talk about the New Heavens and the New Earth, and "no more sea" (Revelation 21) and then get to some headlines.

Using the text of 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, we learn of Paul's concerns that his readers (including this generation) would find themselves beguiled and bewitched just as Eve was and their/our minds would be corrupted. We will look at some of the ways this can and will happen at an increasingly rapid rate. Are we willing to tell people that they "have the wrong Jesus" and explain what that means? It's not just the cults, such as Mormonism, that have the wrong Jesus.

The Department of Public Instruction has released report cards for Wisconsin schools and the mediocrity curve remains. We also discuss the homeschooling issue followingRandi Weingarten's tone-deaf question about why the rise in homeschooling. Weingarten is president of the 2nd largest teachers' union in the nation (American Federation of Teachers). Also on the docket today is the school choice lawsuit in Wisconsin; an update on the firebombing of the WFC's office in Madison 18 months ago; the Ohio abortion referendum of November, and the satanic "holiday" tree in Ashwaubenon.

There were many different attacks, but our desire for a king, is one of the roots of the problem. Why do we want a king? Because then we don’t need to be accountable. Matt drills down how good teaching involves practical applications. In that light, we discuss the improper application of Romans 13 and 14 in the church today. Finally, we talk about the practical application of the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates, Matt’s book written on the topic. Matt demonstrates precisely how to fight the tyranny we are experiencing today.

Don Veinot and Ron Henzel talk to Mary Danielsen about the fallout from the Bill Gothard teachings of the 80s and 90s. Having clearly imploded from aberrant teaching and immoral behaviour,  it came to the fore in the recent documentary, "Shiny Happy People" which brought shame to the cause of Christ in a much larger public context. The children who were raised in it seem to be drifting toward deconstruct mode regarding their faith; some who wish to hang on to their faith have a long road of disentanglement ahead. So is there anything to be gained by exposing it today? What exactly was the ignition spark that brought this legalistic belief system into evangelical families in the first place? Cults - and legalists - are not just limited to extra-curricular doorbell ringers but they can and are in the midst of the church doing untold damage.

Their work, A Matter of Basic Principles, recently updated and re-released, is a difficult read but Gothard's influence on evangelicalism must be seen for what it is, an absolute tragedy that serves as a cautionary tale to the church.

He is the author of 21 books, most of which are in-depth studies of God's Word, for the equipping of the saints. He worked as a social worker and a pastor for 16 years and now pastors full time in the church he planted, along with serving on the New York State Chaplaincy Task Force. Pastor Claude has a heart to see Christians fearlessly witness and not just when it's convenient, but in times of suffering and hostility to the gospel - and to be a light wherever we find ourselves, uncompromising and unashamed of the gospel.

Moody Center, talks to Mary Danielsen about balancing politics with the Great Commission and what it means to find our identity in Christ. More and more, Christians are allowing politics to shape their worldview and the practices of the church, causing divisions among the brethren. There may come a time that we need to ask ourselves if we have become disciples of a particular political tribe rather than disciples of Christ - at the very least measurable in the amount of time we spend on either.

In his thoughtful article, "Render to God what is God's: Reflecting Christ in Politics", James says, "When God's people take up causes, we run the risk of those causes distorting our vision of God. We run the risk of justifying our pursuit of the cause by making the cause an idol and tying God to it. When this happens, we no longer act as if we believe that His ways are beyond our ways, or that His thoughts are beyond our thoughts. God conforms to us. We then determine how the problems we face must be solved and God no longer directs. * Medical malpractice state statutory protection no longer applies when doctors commit crimes without the patient’s knowledge
* Medical malpractice insurance protection also no longer applies
* The statute of limitations on wrongful death claims is increased substantially
* Intentional torts facilitate punitive damages, so attorneys would be willing to take wrongful death cases on contingency

It depends on who you ask, but what truly matters is the approach parents take to make their decision on it. "I loved it as a child" does not serve the believer in Christ who must learn that having a Christian worldview requires filtering every decision through the lens of Scripture. Like all matters of conscience, there are no laws - but there certainly should be biblical sense and sensibilities involved. Current headlines are also in the mix, because while it's hard to keep up, we can at least take a shot at trying. Come let us reason together and add to our understanding of the times.
