- 75 - I want MORE- the compulsivity and impoverishment of MORE
In this episode, we are going to peak around the corners of our desire for MORE. Many of us have shame with wanting more- we have acted out compulsively to buffer the pain of emptiness. We can confuse an anorexic life for a recovering life. And although interrupting compulsive activities, like overdrinking, eating, shopping, sexing is a good thing we can become entrapped in the other extreme, that MORE is bad, dirty, or not available. Learning to become safe enough to receive more from the world and give more to the world is where the medicine of healing shows up. Join me for a short, interesting conversation.
Tue, 8 Mar 2022 - 13min - 74 - The Imprisonment of Shame
As Jung said, "Shame is the swampland of the soul." Today, I share with you the faces of shame that my body endured and why I do what I do today. If you are stuck, often shame is lurking behind the corners of your experience. Often, we feel like we have to attack and fix our shame, but this punitive response only enslaves it. Helping people learn to build finger tenders to untangle their shame's unconscious patterning and to find pleasure and joy with becoming seen, just a little bit, is my life's purpose. Join me!

Listen today to learn how you can start using your imagination to see your problems differently.

Habits are a big part of who we are, And what we do habitually determines who we become in the future. We are going to talk about short-term habit formations and identity-based. Much focus in the self-help and behavioral therapy world is centered around behavior modification. However, the Untangle Method drills into the unconscious patterns of identity change to help create space for a more meaningful picture to arise.

Our political landscape is bifurcated and unintegrated. We don't become well in fragmentation. Now is a time to pick up the pieces, separate out what is real and what is not, and collaborate with each other. Each side is terrified of the other side. Each side is stubborn with their narrow, limited ideas. Each side needs to language their unconscious threats, check them out, and decide to work together. And we can do this together. Join me.
Mon, 9 Nov 2020 - 15min - 43 - Untangle Dirty Pain
In this episode, we are going to talk about dirty pain and clean pain. Dirty pain comingles with shame, ensnaring us into the chaotic waters of shoulding, self-hating, judging. This pain collapses our Stabilizing Floor of Ok-ness, hunching our spines and carving out our heart caves in ways that exile courage. Shame pain drains our creative resources. On the other hand, clean pain is more interested in discovering the roots of what matters to us deeply—the intimate desires of not wanting to live small, under-earn, or hide anymore. Clean pain activates urgency to make the necessary changes to alleviate suffering. Without reaching into this pain, we keep ourselves lukewarm, comfortable, unavailable to change.
Mon, 2 Nov 2020 - 18min - 42 - The Part that Wants to Come Out
In this episode, we are going to create a space for the parts of us that want to come out and claim more from life. We automatically censor parts of ourselves without even knowing it. We live in unconscious agreements to keep these parts away. At one time, they may have caused us humiliation, neediness, shame, and regret. We are in a war with our heads. The work is learning how to let them emerge again, take up space, and form our unrealized lives. When we are punitive, abusive, and harsh with ourselves, we bifurcate ourselves. This creates chaos, dissonance, and isolation We misguidedly think once we get better we will become better. Today let's explore what getting deeper within requires. What usually happens and what we need more from ourselves to build this untangling practice. Join me!

Mon, 12 Oct 2020 - 19min - 39 - Interrupt, & Why it is Important
During times of interruption, old patterns rise to the surface. What had previously been submerged are now flying inside us and around us. You might be finding yourself more anxious, impatient, acting-out, avoiding, or collapsing. Your body may feel like a siren. Days may feel stuck, heavy, or foggy. “Relaxing,” “calming down,” or “self-organizing” is not straightforward. What should feel relaxing might be aggravating. What used to feel energizing might be exhausting. What was previously clear is now murky vagueness. Interruption allows us the space to check things out, address unresolved issues, and become united within ourselves. Instead of fighting this COVID interruption, waiting for it to be done, let's dive into ourselves to access greater healing, creativity, and vision.
Mon, 5 Oct 2020 - 21min - 38 - I Dissent

In a work where fiction is told as truth and facts are twisted into lies, I dissent. What are your dissents? Join me and let's use this time to reclaim vision for our life, family, and country.

Mon, 24 Aug 2020 - 41min - 34 - How to Differentiate and Why it Matters
I am going to explain why differentiating is critical to health, wholeness, and wellness. Learning to differentiate the chaotic, disorganized part of you from the creative, synchronized part of you is s game-changer. Instead of attacking our problems, we need to organize within a framework that can separate them, study them, learn from them, and decide which one we want to take us forward in life. Differentiation leads to maturity, emotional healing, and thriving experiences.
Tue, 18 Aug 2020 - 19min - 33 - Ambivalence is a Terrible Friend
Afraid you will miss something better if you commit to a decision? Sick and tired of second-guessing yourself and living in your head's noise? Ambivalence is a life stealer and yet so many of my clients live inside it entrapment. They struggle with responsibility and commitment. Instead of confronting their unconscious fears, they stay on the fence of ambivalence. Waiting for life to happen. Waiting to make the perfect decision. Waiting to be rescued. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Join me as we explore this limited organizing structure and how to get out of it! Stop hiding in ambivalence. Get safe enough to take risks, engage with the world, and commit.
Mon, 10 Aug 2020 - 17min - 32 - Cut the Crap!
In this episode, I want to scream at the top of my lungs Cut The Crap People! We need to stop managing drama and trauma TODAY! Many of us could be having a HUGE impact on our lives. But we are NOT! We are hiding, avoiding, making excuses, and managing chaos. It breaks my heart to see the amazing people I coach cut themselves off from their greatness! My life has been dedicated to helping people gather a stabilizing floor to cut the crap standing in the way of their purposeful freedom! Whatever that LOOKS like: getting sober, out of debt, divorced, avoidance, ambivalence, fear, disorganization! We need to become safe enough to love, desire, and create! We need to stop making excuses and managing disappointments! We need to stop trauma bonding with commitment and responsibility. This means we need to get a good relationship with BOTH commitment and responsibility! Join me and let's Cut the Crap Together!
Mon, 3 Aug 2020 - 27min - 31 - How to Access Clarity Amid Chaos
Why is clarity so complicated? Why is it difficult for so many of us to become clear? Greater clarity requires radical responsibility. For many of us, our desires have created complicated issues so we have trained ourselves to disconnect. When we spend all our time managing disconnection and emotional reactivity, we hide from clarity and spend our life in the disease of vagueness. In this episode, I am going to help you meet and greet clarity. Without clarity, we cannot build thriving experiences. Join me as we navigate why clarity is critical in difficult, chaotic times.
Mon, 27 Jul 2020 - 21min - 30 - Keeping Momentum In Challenging Times
When times are challenging, how do you keep momentum? Momentum is a very masculine word that can mean chasing power, money, and ambition. But it can also mean someone is deeply connected to their purposeful vision. In this episode, we are going to tease out these differing experiences. What does momentum look like for you? With your body, self-care, money, and relationships? During challenging times, we need to recommit to what is important, set new goals, and become more responsible for where we are putting our time, energy, and focus.
Mon, 20 Jul 2020 - 22min - 29 - Art, Flowers, & Nature

Flowers have MORE senses than humans. They are able to remember, integrate, and respond to threats. Let's talk about the gritty flowering capacity needed to convert a shame-based experience into thriving one.
Mon, 13 Jul 2020 - 24min - 28 - Befriend Chaos
I am talking about Harpist, Deborah Henson-Conant incredible grammy-nominated concert, "Invention & Alchemy". How she uses stories and imagination to deconstruct the harp to ignite peace, freedom, and belonging. And how we need to befriend chaos and tune into the instruments of our bodies. When our bodies hold onto unconscious wars, they create chaotic symphonies. We want to align within our body's chaotic forces in order to convert them into sublime harmonics. Join me, and receive a free ticket for her masterful concert! https://bit.ly/IA-RSVP
Mon, 6 Jul 2020 - 24min - 27 - Covid-19
What is your relationship with the virus COVID-19? In this episode, I am going to discuss threat responses with our Covid-19 relationship. All our bodies have a relationship with Covid-19. For some people, it sparks outrage, others terror. Whatever the case, it is critical to see how your relationship is impacting your life and organizing either resourceful or unhelpful behaviors. Many of my clients have trauma bonded with Covid-19. As things start to reopen, the chaos of fear is creating barriers to move forward in healthy ways. For others, it has sparked outrage, similar to BLM, whereas the government's response to COVID-19 is a system to be dismantled. My job is not to take sides but to hold the middle space for inquiry, integration, and adaptability. Many people are over-reaching rigid certainty which has them feel short term powerful but also powerlessness. I refer to this system as an authoritarian and victim paradigm structure. No one gets well in this system. Everyone is trying to wake up the side that is sleeping, but NO ONE in this system is available for learning or awakened. This system is the most chaotic. It organizes internal overreach and recreates victimization. An integrated, growth paradigm structure is the optimal structure for health and well-being.
Mon, 29 Jun 2020 - 29min - 26 - Untangle Whiteness
Whiteness is like an addiction: cunning, powerful, baffling. Many of us are waking up from a Whiteness morphine drip. It is confusing, disorientating, and liberating. I am working with the work Whiteness to help people locate their unconscious relationship with it. When you think about it, none of our problems are technically difficult to explain. T Their difficulty resides in they are disconnected or in unconsciousness conflict. In coherency, our creative powers are boundless. When all of our organizing system (unconscious and conscious) can agree on what is important, what else might we achieve? This is always the next question when we awaken to our power. We are at a tipping point for systematic change. Let's continue to wake up and dismantle Whiteness and replace it with Humanity.
Mon, 22 Jun 2020 - 16min - 25 - Denial & Harmonics
In this episode, we are going to look at how denial keeps a system in place. I am going to talk about White Fragility and how we can hide behind the "good person", the "non-racist", the "one who has no problems" and YET we are in total denial. Without rupturing denial we don't create the conditions to learn, grow, and organize in healthy ways. I am gonna talk about how denial serves to keep us in a system that offers us an advantage. We may not be conscious of this, but we want to locate it. Also, denial is a big pacifier that numbs us and doesn't ask anything from us. It is time for US people to puncture denial. Let's wake up to the problem of our life and greet reality. Yes, it is messy, uncomfortable, and often shame-based but freedom is much sweeter, Let's open our eyes, minds, and hearts and align with dignity, grace, and equality for all. I will be reading the preface of my book and part of the introduction. I have been helping people untangle disorganized systems for over 20 years to create systematic transformation versus incremental self-willed change. I
Mon, 15 Jun 2020 - 30min - 24 - Southern Racism
Let's talk about Southern Racism. In this episode, I am sharing my Southern shame and the struggles of racism I had to confront within my family. Let's talk about people who enable old systems fo racism to stay in motion. Let's get uncomfortable and look are our own voiceless enabling. Let's confront all the times we let racial slurs pass and said nothing, did nothing. Let's come together behind the silence of shame and rattle awakening. Let's form new voices that match our humanity's hearts to hear the cries of injustice. Let's support Black Lives Matter until systematic reforms are integrated to support equality for all. It is time to get uncomfortable people. It time to form assert voices that interrupt the old systems. It is time to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Mon, 8 Jun 2020 - 24min - 23 - Coupleship Shame
In this episode, we are diving into coupleship shame and what to do about it. Many times we stay stuck in the shame, not sure how to mobilize into a harmonious union again. Things need to get addressed, issues need to be voiced in a healthy way, and space needed to help to discover each other again. This episode is not only for the ladies, so gentlemen come to this space to gather some ideas of what you can do to move forward. I must say, coaching couples is by far the most difficult space I hold for people. Triggering money issues and disastrous sexual trauma are difficult terrains to navigate. However, it is possible to recover and thrive. We have to become willing to put down our swords and pick up our hearts. We must be willing to meet somewhere new in order to discover each other again. Sometimes it starts with a foot rub, a hand holding, a gesture of maybe. Whatever it is, lets start!

Mon, 25 May 2020 - 25min - 21 - Freeze

Instead of managing the wars of self-hate and disconnection, we want to create space to explore our unconscious relationship with our medicine or with letting it go. As we connect our unseen life with our seen experience, we access internal medicine to heal, thrive, and grow. Here, we reunite with a deeper part of ourselves, a deeper part of life, a deeper belonging with life.
