He dreamt of winning a Premiership, but he never really believed it was possible.

He even contemplated giving the entire game away. There was shame, and guilt. But through the setbacks, came unprecedented success.

Trent Cotchin helped lead a cultural shift at the Richmond Tigers, culminating in not one, not two, but three Premierships and became the most decorated captain in the club's long and storied history.

The how, and why and meaning behind it all, is in this beautiful long form chat. Captain Cotch, at his finest.

Thank to AAMI for their support of local and community footy, and thanks for their support of this episode with Trent Cotchin, epitomising turning setbacks into success'.

  • 671 - 210: Trent Cotchin (Player Profile)

His story in all of its detail, could be one of the best modern day footy journeys on offer, the Tigers skipper turned setback after setback, into success after success.

But before we get to that, let's have some fun with Trent Cotchin's Player Profile.

His kindness, leadership, wisdom and wit - is on show for all!

And, a huge thanks to AAMI for their support of local and community footy, and thanks for helping make this episode possible with the three time Premiership captain.

Excuse a clanger or two, onto the Player Profile we go!

  • 670 - 209: Remembering Jack Jones with Sarah Jones (Part A)

    An Anzac Day Special.

Howie is joined by Fox Footy host, Sarah Jones, to remember her Pop, Jack Jones - who appeared on the podcast in 2016, for episode 6. It remains one of Howie's favourites.

The late Jack Jones played in 7 Grand Finals for the Essendon Bombers, which included 3 Premierships. Before he stepped out for the Bombers, he went to war with the 24th Infantry Battalion in New Guinea and Bougainville. His memory and recall of these times was as breathtaking as it was incredible.

He had no time to fear what was happening around him, because he was committed to looking after his mates first. And that about sums him up, you have to hear his story.

    Lest We Forget.
