On the 60th Episode of Dorm Damage With Tom & Zeus, the guys welcome Ryan Spencer Cook & Jeremy Asbrock from Ace Frehley's band and their own new band, Rock City Machine Company. Ryan Spencer Cook & Jeremy Asbrock are both well known and accomplished Nashville musicians who have played in Gene Simmons' band and Ace Frehley's band. However they have teamed with fellow Nashville musician Phil Shouse and have released a new album with a new band they created called Rock City Machine Company. RCMC is filled with classic guitar, vocals and grooves. The album shines with the great 1970's influences. Upon hearing this incredible debut album, Tom & Zeus had to have Ryan and Jeremy back to discuss this album, which all Loudcasters should buy. This week Tom & Zeus breakdown KISS' 1980 appearance on the children's show "Kids Are People Too." Right as KISS was preparing their tour of the Unmasked album, the band wanted to introduce their new drummer, the Fox, Eric Carr to the world. KISS decided to go on the children's program, Kids Are People Too. The appearance did little to stop the fast decline of their popularity. However, the episode is a unique look at a band not sure where they are going or how to get there. The guys breakdown the appearance in SIOL fashion and discuss this awkward television appearance. On the 52nd Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest Fozzy frontman and current AEW FTW Champion, Chris Jericho, review the 1985 soundtrack for the movie, "Vision Quest." Vision Quest is the story of high school senior wrestler who wants to lose weight and get into a lower weight class just to battle a seemingly impossible foe. The movie which starred Matthew Modine and Linda Fiorentino was not a box office success, but has since become an 80's cult hit. Vision Quest is the rare movie which has been helped by it movie soundtrack. The soundtrack is filled with many successful 80's artist, including two songs from Madonna who was skyrocketing into superstardom at the time. Most of the artists, with the exception of Madonna and The Style Council, were hard rock acts, like Foreignor, Dio, Sammy Hagar and Journey. Other artist involved were Don Henley, Red Rider and John Waite. The album went platinum in the United States and made it to #30 on the US Billboard 200. Tracks like Only The Young, Hot Blooded, Hungry For Heaven and Lunatic Fringe as still found on classic rock stations this day. But it was the two songs including, Crazy For You, by Madonna that made this soundtrack become of the best and most popular of the 1980's. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 50 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1997 grunge influenced KISS album, "Carnival Of Souls: The Final Sessions" This was KISS' 17th studio album and the 22nd KISS studio album reviewed by SIOL. Carnival Of Souls is a very polarizing KISS album. The album was recorded with the Revenge era KISS lineup right before the KISS Reunion. However, it was not released immediately. Bootleg copies of the album were wildly circulated and the band then decided to release the album on October 28, 1997. The band did not promote the album, nor tour on the album. It also was deemed to be KISS trying to be grunge. The album was produced by Alice In Chains producer, Toby Wright. The songs were dark and heavy with a lot of grunge like qualities. This may have suited the Revenge era KISS, especially Gene Simmons, but not Paul Stanley. This ended up becoming the last non-makeup KISS album and the last album with Bruce Kulick as well. This is the only album to feature Bruce Kulick on lead vocals on a KISS song, the last track on the album, "I Walk Alone." As usual the guys breakdown and analyze the tracks and rank the songs SIOL style. As always, they then compare the album and album cover and rank it against the previous studio albums reviewed. Find out who loves this album and who calls this album "Music From The Elder Part Two" and if that's a positive thing. Oh and don't miss the discussion of another Gene Simmons classic song title. On the 51st Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest Zach Throne from Corey Taylor's band and Bruce Kulick's band, review the 1981 legendary album from Ozzy Osbourne "Diary Of A Madman" Ozzy was one year removed from his incredible debut, Blizzard Of Ozz when he went back into the studio for his second solo studio album, Diary Of A Madman. Returning with Ozzy was the young guitar God, Randy Rhoads, Bob Daisley on bass and Lee Kerslake on drums. This lineup will only have two albums under their belt, but perhaps the two greatest hard rock albums back to back. Diary Of A Madman may have topped his debut album. Randy Rhoads groundbreaking guitar playing went to an even higher level. Bob Daisley's bass playing and incredible lyrics added to the growing mystique and image of Ozzy Osbourne. Lee Kerslake's drumming excellence is on full display on the beginning of the opening track, "Over The Mountain." Ozzy's vocals and delivery is at its peak throughout this album. His underrated and underappreciated singing was some of his best work ever. The album was one again produced by Max Norman, but along with Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley. The album went 3X platinum in the United States and made it to #16 on the US Billboard 200. It produced some of classic rock's greatest hits including "Flying High Again." The album is sadly the last album by this incredible unit and obviously Randy Rhoads last album ever. He passed away in a terrible plane crash during the Diary Of A Madman tour. On the 50th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest Murph review the 1971 legendary album from the classic rock band The Who "Who's Next." The Who was already one the greatest rock bands of all time in 1971 when they began working on a new project from guitarist Pete Townshend, called "Lifehouse." The band scrapped the plan (with the help from their producer Glyn Johns) and decided to use their best songs for a new rock album. The result was their greatest album and one for the greatest rock albums of all time. The band was in their prime, led by main songwriter, guitarist and music genius Pete Townshend. Roger Daltrey was the prototype lead singer of the time, a good looking, charismatic frontman with incredible vocals. Bassist John Entwistle is considered by many as the greatest bass player of all time. Rounding out the lineup is one of rock music's most iconic character, the insane Keith Moon, who was just as good a drummer as he was a madman. The album was produced by the talented Glyn Johns and The Who. Who's Next boasts some of classic rock's greatest songs, including, Baba O'Riley, Bargain, Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again. These songs and more are staples on classic rock stations. The album has gone triple platinum in the United States and is constantly on the greatest albums lists. On the 49th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1986 album from Swedish rock band Europe, "The Final Countdown." The Final Countdown was Europe's 3rd studio album. The album was their breakthrough that saw them obtain their greatest success. The album went up to number 8 on the US Billboard album charts and has gone triple platinum. Europe is led by lead singer and main songwriter, Joey Tempest. Who was the typical lead singer from the era, big voice and big hair. Lead guitarist John Norum was perhaps one of the most underrated guitarist of that era. Rounding out the bad was John Leven on bass, Mic Michaeli on keyboards and rocking the keytar at times and Ian Haugland on drums. The album was produced by Kevin Elson. The Final Countdown was one of the defining albums of the "Hair Metal" era. From the infamous keyboards of the title track, "The Final Countdown" to typical 80's ballad, "Carrie" and to the rockers, "Rock The Night" and "Cherokee" the album was catapulted to the top. With the help of MTV, their videos with arms raised in the desert, singing into ketchup bottles and more gave Europe a lot exposure. This week Tom & Zeus review the 2003 "World Domination Tour" which featured KISS & Aerosmith. This is SIOL's 7th KISS tour reviewed. This tour was unique because it featured two of the premier hard rock bands from the United States of all time. Both bands were huge in the 1970's and both had major comebacks, Aerosmith in the 1980's and KISS in the 1990's. The tour also was known for Aerosmith insisting that at least three original members of KISS be in the band. With Ace Frehley definitely out of the picture, the original catman, Peter Criss returned to join Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and the new spaceman, Tommy Thayer. The tour had KISS opening up and Aerosmith finishing. Some fans were disappointed because both legendary bands had to shorten their setlist too accommodate the other band. The band at this point was 5 years removed from their last album and would play a setlitst of mostly classic makeup hits. The tour was a success and Tom & Zeus did get to see the tour when they visited Mansfield, Massachusetts. As usual, the guys breakdown the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour. They then rank the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour against the previous 6 tours reviewed so far. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1979 polarizing KISS album, "Dynasty." This was KISS' 7th studio album and the 21st KISS studio album reviewed by SIOL. Dynasty was the first studio album since Love Gun in 1977. This was the longest time between studio albums for KISS. It was the last studio to feature all original members until Psycho Circus in 1998. The album was produced by Vini Poncia, who Peter Criss demanded and had previously produced Peter's 1978 solo album. The band was definitely changing. Super KISS had been formed. The band wore flashier outfits with capes and became more comic book-like. They experimented with more pop and yes, even disco, with their huge international smash, "I Was Made For Lovin' You, written with this new upcoming songwriter, Desmond Child. Producer Vini Poncia was instrumental in this new sound, however the band did write some of their best songs, like the brilliant, "Sure Know Something." Yes brilliant! However, this departure in sound and style alienated a lot of the KISS Army. The album also featured all four members sing at least on song, just as they did on Love Gun. However, this album featured Ace Frehley on three songs, by far his most. Gene Simmons only sang on only two. The album also featured ghost player, Anton Fig on drums. Peter Criss only played drums on his song, "Dirty Livin'." The album cover was the iconic photo of the four faces of the band. The inside photo of the band in black also became legendary. As usual the guys breakdown and analyze the tracks and rank the songs SIOL style. As always, they then compare the album and album cover and rank it against the previous studio albums reviewed. On the 48th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1981 classic album from Van Halen, "Fair Warning." Fair Warning was Van Halen's 4th studio album. The album continued to keep Van Halen as THE hard rock band of the era. The album went up to number 5 on the US Billboard album charts and has gone double platinum. Van Halen is led by perhaps the greatest guitar player of all time, Eddie (Edward) Van Halen. Not to be out done is the preeminent frontman of the 1980's, David Lee Roth. A rhythm section second to none, with Alex Van Halen and his signature drumming and the great Michael Anthony on bass and his acclaimed backing vocals. The album was produced by the legendary Van Halen producer, Ted Templeman. Fair Warning see Van Halen going a little darker than normal, from the album cover, to the opening track, like "Mean Street." The album features two of Van Halen's classic songs like "Unchained" and "So This Is Love?" and many beloved Van Halen deep cuts. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 46 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This week Tom & Zeus breakdown their trip to New York to watch KISS' last two shows on their End Of The Road tour at Madison Square Garden. Shout It Out Loudcast podcast began almost at the exact time of KISS' End Of The Road tour. Well, the end of the road for KISS is finally here. Tom & Zeus & Murph along with a ton of Loudcaster favorites, Hall Of Famers and more made the trip to New York City to witness the supposed end of KISS the touring band. The guys recap their KISS adventure, the two concerts, the infamous ending and the new avatar beginning. It's all here, the good, the bad and the fart spray! On the 47th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1976 classic album from Aerosmith, "Rocks." Rocks was Aerosmith's 4th studio album. The album continued Aerosmith's climb as perhaps America's preeminent hard rock band of the 1970's. The album was one of the first albums to ever get shipped platinum and has gone quadruple platinum. The album also reached number 3 on the US Billboard album charts. Aerosmith is led by one of the best singing and charismatic frontmen in rock history, Steven Tyler. Steven's vocals are one of a kind and style is unmatched. Aerosmith is led by dual guitar attack of Joe Perry and Brad Whitford. They trade off leads and rhythm guitar throughout the album. The rhythm section is Tom Hamilton on bass and Joey Kramer on drums. All the musicians as a whole are vastly underrated. The album was produced by the legendary Jack Douglas. Rocks features that classic Aerosmith style and see them continue the ascension to the top of the rock bands of the 1970's. Rocks features classics like, Back In The Saddle and Last Child while containing some of Aerosmith's favorite deep cuts, like Rats In The Cellar, Home Tonight & Nobody's Fault and Sick As A Dog. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 45 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. On the 46th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review rock band INXS' 1987 monster album, "Kick." Kick was the Australian band INXS' 6th solo studio album. The album catapulted INXS in superstardom, especially in the United States, where the album went 6x platinum and also selling over 20 million albums worldwide. The album also reached number 3 on the US Billboard album charts and had 4 top ten singles, with one of them reaching number 1. INXS was led by one of the most charismatic frontman of the 1980's, Michael Hutchence. Whose voice, style and sexiness was made for MTV and the 1980's. The band features three of the Farriss brothers, Andrew on keyboards and guitar, Jon on drums and Tim on guitars along with Kirk Pengilly on guitars and sax and Garry Gary Beers on bass. The album was produced by Chris Thomas. Kick featured undeniable hits made for the 1980's radio and MTV like, New Sensation, Devil Inside, Never Tear Us Apart and the number one hit, Need You Tonight. The Tomorrow Show With Tom Snyder was a late night tv talk show on NBC hosted by the likeable host Tom Snyder. By the time KISS appeared on the show, the band was already falling apart. However, this night became a favorite of the KISS Army due to an obviously drunk Ace Frehley, who took over the interview much to the dismay of usual ringleaders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. The KISS album Destroyer was released in 1976 and is considered to be one of KISS' most legendary albums. For it's 45th anniversary, Destroyer became the first KISS album to be given the Super Deluxe Box Set treatment.  Disc 3 of the Box set is filled with 24 outtakes, alternate versions, mixes and singles of the legendary songs from Destroyer. The album also contains an unreleased song with Peter Criss on vocals, Ain't None Of Your Business. On the 45th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review Alice Cooper's 1989 successful comeback album, "Trash." Trash was Alice Cooper's 11th solo studio album. The album was a commercial hit, going platinum and selling over two million albums. The album also reached number 20 on the US Billboard album charts. To complete his comeback, Alice enlisted the 80's hit songwriter at the time, Desmond Child. Child not only produced the album, but also co-wrote 9 of the 10 songs on the album. Mutual friends like Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer also made appearances. The album was a complete dive into the "hair metal scene." The songs contained Alice's unique vocals, personality and snarl combined with the Desmond Child's songwriting style. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 43 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This week Tom & Zeus review the 2009 KISS album, "Sonic Boom." This was KISS' 19th studio album and the 20th KISS studio album reviewed by SIOL. Sonic Boom was the first studio album by KISS in 11 years. It was the first to feature the current KISS lineup of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer & Tommy Thayer. The album was produced by Paul Stanley and Greg Collins. The band wanted to show that they can "still knock out anybody who's out there." The album had no outside writes and both Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer had their first lead vocals on a KISS song on Sonic Boom. They played some on these songs on tour for the album and "Say Yeah" is still played today on the End Of The Road Tour. The album cover was from Michael Doret, who previously created the cover to KISS' "Rock And Roll Over." The album came with a bonus CD called KISS Klassics, which was a re-recording of some of KISS' greatest hit by the current KISS lineup. A third disc contained a six-song live DVD recorded in Bueno Aires, Argentina on April 5, 2009. As usual the guys breakdown and analyze the tracks and rank the songs SIOL style. As always, they then compare the album and album cover and rank it against the previous studio albums reviewed. On the 44th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the rock album from the Foo Fighters, "Wasting Light" Wasting Light was the Foo Fighters' 7th studio album. The album was a commercial and critical hit, winning 4 Grammys, including best rock album. The album went platinum and also became the Foo Fighters first album to go #1 on Billboards 200. Led by the biggest rock star in the past 30 years, Dave Grohl on guitar and vocals, the dual guitar players, Pat Smear & Chris Shiflett, bassist Nate Mendel and the lovable late bad ass drummer Taylor Hawkins. The lyrics were credited to the whole band, although Grohl was the main lyricist. The album had 6 singles and basically a music video for every song. The album reconnect the legendary producer Butch Vig of Nirvana's Nevermind fame with Dave Grohl. The band wanted a rawer sound and Dave convinced Vig and the band to record the album in his garage with analog equipment. Grohl wanted this album to define the Foo Fighters and to many he succeeded. On the 43rd Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the classic 1986 thrash album from Metallica, "Master Of Puppets." Master Of Puppets was Metallica's 3rd studio album. It made Metallica the leaders of thrash metal and became a landmark heavy metal album. Led by guitarist and vocalist, James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett and the late great bassist, Cliff Burton, Metallica grew as a band. Master Of Puppets featured more mature lyrics and songs that would win over their fans and critics without MTV and videos. The album contains some of the greatest songs of Metallica's catalog, including Battery, Master Of Puppets, Welcome Home (Sanitarium) and more. The album is considered a classic thrash album and one of the greatest in heavy metal. Master Of Puppets sold over 6 million copies. This is KISS Draft XI and the guys enlisted none other than Joey Cassata to help with the draft. The KISS draft is similar to fantasy football drafts, where each person drafts 10 songs each from the 1978 KISS solo albums. The guys discuss, analyze and breakdown the unique KISS 1978 solo albums, their favorites, the songs and the whole concept. On the 4th Episode of Shout It Out Loudcast's sidecast, The Zeppelin Chronicles, our hosts, Tom & Zeus, along with SIOL sidekick Murph and Jay Scott from The Hook Rocks podcast, review the classic 1971 album, "Led Zeppelin IV."  Led Zeppelin IV sometimes called, untitled, Zoso, runes and even 4 symbols is considered to be not only one of Led Zeppelin's greatest achievements, but also music in general. Filled with immortal songs like, Black Dog, Rock And Roll and perhaps the greatest rock song of all time, Stairway To Heaven, Led Zeppelin IV catapulted Led Zeppelin into a superstardom like very few have ever achieved. Following Led Zeppelin III lukewarm reception, the band went to work on the next album in October of 1970. The album still featured Led Zeppelin signature sound, blues, heavy metal, rock and roll, blues and folk. However, the songs had more of a punch and more accessible to the public. Led Zeppelin IV went to Number 2 in the USA and went 24 times platinum in the United States. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1980 solo album from former KISS drummer Peter Criss, "Out Of Control." Peter Criss had just left KISS a few months earlier and he quickly released Out Of Control, his 2nd solo album if you count the 1978 KISS solo albums. The album was soft rock with a mix of soul and Peter's signature ballads. Unfortunately the album sold poorly and did not chart. Peter believed he was "blackballed" by Casablanca and KISS. However, the music was once again an enormous departure from KISS music that the KISS army expected. This is the 5th album by KISS members outside of KISS that SIOL has reviewed. As usual they rank the songs and then rank the album and covers against the four previous KISS member albums outside of KISS. So remember There's Nothing Better Than being By Myself when you listen to this album! On the 42nd Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1994 album from Stone Temple Pilots, "Purple." Purple was STP's 2nd album after their smash debut album "Core." Shaking off the critics and the Pearl Jam clone label, Stone Temple Pilots took their sound from Core and added a whole other dynamic to their sound. Led by charismatic lead singer and lyricist, Scott Weiland, STP boasts the amazing musicianship of brother Dean DeLeo on guitar and Robert DeLeo on bass, with dynamic drummer, Eric Kretz on drums. The album is produced by 90's grunge producer extraordinaire, Brendan O'Brien. The album contains some of the greatest songs of the era, including Vasoline, Interstate Love Song and Big Empty. The album is considered a classic grunge/alternaive album and one of the greatest in the 1990's. The album sold over 6 million copies. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 40 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This was Zeus' pick and album that he's been praising for years. See if Sonny spoils the fun since this is a grunge album, see if the bell is rung for a new number one. Yeah Grunge! This week Tom & Zeus breakdown KISS' 1977 appearance on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. Don Kirshner was a producer of ABC In Concert. He left and created his own syndicated show, Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. KISS performed on ABC In Concert previously in 1974 so it was natural for them to also go onto Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in 1977. The band performed three videos for songs off of their most recent album, Rock And Roll Over. These were early forms of videos pre-MTV for I Want You, Hard Luck Woman and Love 'Em And Leave 'Em. These performances were with the Spirit of 76 costumes and stage. The band may have been at its greatest height at this time. The guys then rank this KISS TV appearance against the previous KISS TV appearances they have reviewed so far. This episode answers the question whether the guys REALLY LIKE KISS?
