Darren Zhu is currently lead of atoms.org, a compay that intends to improve incentives in science by developing smart research contracts mediated by peer-to-peer review networks. He was previously awarded the Thiel Scholarship, and was part of Yale's first iGEM team.

Drew Klein is a green chemist with a vision for engineered biology to sustainably provide the food, fuel, and valuable chemicals for our global humanity. He has expertise in enzymology, plant natural products, chemical biology, protein engineering, metabolomics, functional genomics, and bioinformatics. 

Vasiliki is an accomplished biologist with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry. She is dedicated to research and development in the field of renewable biobased chemicals. She has received her P.hD from Yale University in Cell Biology. Working in various fields she has helped in many areas from advancing new technologies for the biological conversion of economical, renewable substrates to valuable, sustainable products to genetically engineering thermophilic anaerobic bacteria for the production of ethanol.

Michael Köepke is VP of Synthetic Biology at LanzaTech and a pioneer in genetic engineering and strain development of gas fermenting organisms to convert carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide to useful products. Michael and his team are responsible for development of genetic tools and synthetic pathways as well as strain engineering of LanzaTech’s proprietary gas fermenting organisms to optimize performance of the process and expand the product portfolio.

Marilene Pavan is Manager, HTP Synthetic Biology at LanzaTech. She is a Biologist with 15+ years of experience in the fields of synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, and biomanufacturing, with previous experience working for chemical industries like Braskem S/A and leading biotech companies as Monsanto S/A, She moved to the US in 2016 to work as Research Fellow at Boston University, later joining Lanzatech in 2019.

Nataly Moreno-Martinez is a researcher, software developer, spanish and french translator, math Tutor, and businesswoman. Part of the Yale College Class of 21 with a Biomedical Engineering major and Spanish Language minor, she plans to to develop a surgical implant to service disabled or older individuals with bone or tissue complications. Currently, she is studying DevOps practices, docker container management, and cloud services.

Professor Fremont is Head of the Section of Structural and Synthetic Biology in the Department of Infectious Disease at Imperial College. He is also cofounder of the Imperial College Centre for Synthetic Biology (2009) and cofounder/co-director of the National UK Innovation and Knowledge Centre for Synthetic Biology (SynbiCITE; since Oct 2013) at Imperial College London. His research interests span from understanding molecular mechanisms associated with human disease and infection using structural molecular biology techniques to the development of synthetic biology cell-free and platform technologies for healthcare applications.

Lynn Rothschild is a senior scientist NASA's Ames Research Center and Bio and Bio-Inspired Technologies, Research and Technology Lead for NASA Headquarters Space Technology Mission Directorate, as well as Adjunct Professor at Brown University. Her research is focused on the burgeoning field of synthetic biology, articulating a vision for the future of synthetic biology as an enabling technology for NASA's missions, including human space exploration and astrobiology.

Christina Agapakis is a biologist, writer, and artist known for her experiments exploring the future of biotechnology. She is creative director at Ginkgo Bioworks, a synthetic biology company that specializes in prototyping, designing, and licensing bioengineered microbes to a variety of industries.
