Thu, 23 May 2024 - 18098 - Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)
Hour 1
The Rangers dropped game 1 at the Garden 3-0 to the Panthers. There seemed to be a lack of energy in the building. Fans and Mark Messier seem to want Matt Rempe in the lineup for a spark. The Rangers gave up a soft goal, deflected one into their own net and the last was an empty netter. The Rangers had 2 breakaways and came away with nothing. Boomer felt like Florida was smothering the Rangers. Boomer is also annoyed at the way ESPN is shooting these games. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with all of the sounds from the Rangers loss to the Panthers. The Yankees beat the Mariners as Juan Soto hit 2 homeruns. We asked Jerry to rank the Yankees play by play guys. Adam Schein told the Pacers, ‘bag it, losers’. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer said the Rangers never got on track offensively. Gio thinks Matt Rempe may be overrated at this point and everyone seems to keep calling for him to be on the ice.
Hour 2
Boomer said there are a lot of rusty bridges in NJ. We talked more about the Rangers loss and took calls from people who wanted Matt Rempe to get in there and get physical. Boomer thinks there’s something wrong with Adam Fox as he’s not moving the way he normally does. He injured his knee during the Capitals series and hasn’t been the same since. Jerry returned for an update and said, ‘on the scale of miserable around here, I don’t even register’. Jerry has all the sounds from last night’s Rangers loss in game 1. The Yankees beat the Mariners thanks to a HR by Aaron Judge and 2 homeruns from Juan Soto. In the final segment of the hour, Gio is surprised at how well Kyrie Irving has performed with the Mavericks. He thought he would blow up the Mavs and go down in flames, and it’s been the exact opposite.
Hour 3
The MSG crowd was criticized for not being loud enough last night. The Rangers will have to make adjustments and we’ll see if they change the lineup. A Devils fan calls to annoy Boomer. A Rangers fan calls to yell at Devils fans. We are golfing today but it seems like we are going to hit severe thunderstorms. Gio said he’s fascinated by tornados. Jerry returned for an update but first we took some calls from Rangers and Devils fans. Jerry has all the sounds from last night’s Rangers loss. The Yanks won again and the Mets lost again. In the final segment of the hour, we are playing golf later today but the weather is not looking good.
Hour 4
Boomer is frustrated when the Rangers lose and annoyed at things like Igor giving up a soft goal. Boomer expected this series to go seven games before it even started. Jerry returns for an update and has audio of Shaun Morash calling Matt Martin a ‘punk ass’. He also called him a ‘has been, never was’. The Yankees beat the Mariners as Juan Soto hit 2 homeruns and Aaron Judge hit one as well. Jerry plays ‘what’s that sound’. Jerry went around the NBA last night. We talked about Caitlin Clark’s impact on the WNBA. Charles Barkley defended Clark as she’s getting a lot of haters. The Moment of The Day involves Adam Schein telling the Pacers to ‘bag it, losers’. In the final segment of the show, we finished up with some calls on the Rangers game 1 loss and the lack of energy from the Garden crowd.

Hour 1
The Rangers and Panthers game 1 is tonight and Boomer said it will be fast and furious. The Panthers are a bunch of agitators and throw a lot of pucks at the net. It’s going to be a knock down drag out series. We asked Boomer if he’s going to the Garden, but because of his early wakeup time, he’s going to watch at home. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update. He starts with a preview of Rangers/Panthers game 1. Sean Avery is not happy that Matt Rempe is likely out of the lineup. The Yankees lost to the Mariners again and the Mets lost in Cleveland again. Aaron Rodgers met the media and will be focused on only football once the regular season begins. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer and Gio golfed again yesterday. Boomer then had dinner with his daughter Sydney and Matt Martin and Boomer thinks Matt is rooting for the Rangers. A caller asked about this new offense Rob Saleh is supposedly installing for the Jets.
Hour 2
Gio said when CBS Sports Network wants us to talk about something, they run video of it during the breaks so we can see it. Today it’s the sports Emmys, as CBS won a bunch of them. James Brown won an award as did Tracy Wolfson. We talked more about the wine bottle that Matt Martin gave Boomer. The bottle is a tribute to the Stanley Cup. C-Lo returns for an update, but first we talked about clams. We heard from Suzyn Waldman talking about the Mariners trident and she wondered if it was ‘bigger than the sausage’. C-Lo has a preview of Rangers/Panthers which gets underway tonight. Chris Russo is having a hard time with a hockey player’s name. The Celtics took game 1 from the Pacers. In the final segment of the hour, competitive eater Kobayashi is retiring because of health concerns. We also talked about the Henry Winkler commercial we run here, about his father in laws’ eyes.
Hour 3
Guy Adami from CNBC called in and he didn’t like that Boomer had the Stanley Cup in the studio yesterday. We took a bunch of calls from Rangers fans. Boomer said Gio should be rooting for the Rangers, because when the Rangers win, Boomer’s happy. When Boomer’s happy, Gio gets to golf at bougie courses. The golf course they went to yesterday had the best shower that Gio has ever experienced. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with a preview of Rangers/Panthers. Sean Avery wants Matt Rempe in the lineup because of his toughness. C-Lo has a long sound from BT that sounds strange. The Yankees lost again to the Mariners. Gio wants C-Lo to rank the Yankees play by play guys and others in play for that job. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Mets fans hating the Yankees and Jets fans hating the Giants and wondered why we hate the opposite NY team.
Hour 4

Mon, 20 May 2024 - 18055 - Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)
Hour 1
The Knicks were eliminated last night after losing to the Pacers at the Garden. The Knicks were just up against too many injuries and the Pacers shot at a record percentage. Boomer said the Knicks finally have a team and coach that’s stable. Gio is very disappointed with how the season ended, but Boomer seems very positive about the future. Gio wonders how the Knicks will evaluate this season. Jerry is here for his first update and has all the sounds from the Knicks loss. The Timberwolves eliminated the Nuggets and will play Dallas next. The Yankees swept the White Sox this weekend after sweeping the Twins. The Mets lost a series to the Marlins and Edwin Diaz was terrible again, even in a non-save situation. And we heard Jim Nantz on the call as Xander Schauffele won the PGA Championship. In the final segment of the hour, we gave proper credit to the Pacers, but if the Knicks were close to healthy they would have won it.
Hour 2
Larry in Indiana checks in now that the Pacers beat the Knicks. He claims to look like, ‘the white Shaq’. He is driving from Indiana to Belmar for Kickoff to Summer this Friday. He’s very confident the Pacers will beat the Celtics. The fact the Knicks have haters means they are finally in the conversation again. Boomer thinks it’s time for the Knicks to move on from a few guys, Mitchell Robinson being one of them. Jerry returns for an update and starts with all the sounds of the Knicks series loss to the Pacers. Jalen Brunson fractured his hand during the game. The Timberwolves eliminated the Nuggets. Nuggets head coach Michael Malone is sick of the ‘stupid ass questions’ after their loss. The Yankees swept the White Sox this weekend. Edwin Diaz continues to struggle as the Mets lose a series to the Marlins. Jerry has audio of Evan Roberts yelling, ‘I’ve gotta crap’. In the final segment of the hour, Gio has to leave at 9am today as he’s going up to Albany to be honored by the NY Legislature as Italian American of the Year or something. A caller wonders how Scottie Scheffler was set free so quickly on a felony. A caller is excited for Rangers/Panthers that gets underway Wednesday.
Hour 3
The injuries finally caught up to the Knicks and they weren’t able to compete in this game. The Pacers also shot lights out, so that was a deadly combo. The Knicks need a deeper bench, but this was a lot of injuries to try and overcome. Boomer thinks the Knicks need to make a few changes at the back of the roster. Jerry is here for another update and has all the sounds as the Pacers beat the Knicks and ended their season. The Yankees swept the White Sox this weekend. The Mets lost their series against the Marlins. There was also a fistfight among NASCAR drivers. In the final segment of the hour, Gio is going to Albany today to be honored as the Italian American of the year by the NY State Legislature.
Hour 4
Jerry is in for Gio for the 9am hour. Jerry gives his take on the Knicks losing the series (it sucks he said). Boomer said with the injury to Jalen Brunson, the Knicks would not have competed with the Celtics anyway. We talked about all the Knicks injuries. The Knicks are in a great spot going forward. A Knicks fan is pissed at Knicks fans this morning for wanting guys traded. Jerry returns for an update (he’s also hosting as Gio left early). Jerry starts with the sounds of last night’s Knicks series loss to the Pacers. The Timberwolves beat the Nuggets and knocked them out of the playoffs.
