  • 17999 - Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

    Hour 1

Boomer said the Rangers were out coached by the Hurricanes last night and the team did not match the excitement of the fans at the Garden. He is not too worried yet as they are still up 3-2. If they lose in Carolina they still come home for game 7. Boomer called their performance, ‘listless’. Boomer said somebody has to step up and that person can be Chris Kreider. Jerry is here for an update and starts with all the sounds from last night’s Rangers loss in Hurricanes. LeBron James was at the Cavaliers game and got a huge introduction by the deep voice guy. Edwin Diaz blew another game last night and the Mets ended up losing in 10. Lions QB Jared Goff got a huge deal averaging $53 million a year. Tom Brady’s first game will be the Cowboys at Browns in week 1. In the final segment of the hour, Connor Hughes of SNY said the Jets tried to hire someone to run the offense instead of Nathaniel Hackett. We wondered if Aaron Rodgers was aware of this. Boomer had a dream about the Jets and Bengals playing in the divisional playoff game.

    Hour 2

The Knicks are favored to win tonight but are underdogs to win the series, which is odd, since game 7 would be at MSG. The Knicks are dealing with a lot of injuries right now. If the Knicks lose 3 in a row and have to go to Indiana for a deciding game 6 that’s a bad scene. We also took some Rangers calls. Jerry returns for an update but first we played Jack Black’s ‘Peaches’ and ‘Peaches’ by Presidents of The United States. Jerry has all the sounds from last night’s Rangers loss. We also heard from Monica McNutt on Knicks injuries. Jerry put together a montage of Edwin Diaz’s disastrous ninth inning. A fan in Seattle caught 2 foul balls back to back. In the final segment of the hour, Jared Goff got a huge 4-year extension from the Lions that will pay him an average of $53 million a year. A caller said Sean Avery is really great on Instagram breaking down the Ranger games.

    Hour 3

There is no way to tell whether minutes played by a particular player leads to injuries. The Knicks need guys like OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson out there. There will be pressure at the Garden tonight, but Boomer said that’s what you play for. The Knicks and Rangers have dropped a combined 4 straight. We need a winner around here. A caller said the NY Mets touched the cup while it was visiting Citi Field. Jerry returns for an update and starts with all the sounds from last night’s Rangers loss. Breaking news: The Jets will be in San Francisco on Monday night week 1. Jerry has audio from BT and Sal where a female caller was hitting on BT by inviting him to the Knicks game while her husband is out of town. Edwin Diaz blew another save and the Mets lost to the Phillies. Chris McMonigle is interested in obscure baseball stats. In the final segment of the hour, lunch will be served at Audacy today for AAPI day. We also talked about how baked ziti is served at every celebration. A caller brought up the 6-foot sub with all of the condiments sitting out in the sun.

    Hour 4

After the show, Boomer is going to the carpenters union on behalf of DeWalt. They are celebrating 100 years. The NY Giants are also celebrating 100 years this upcoming season. A caller is excited for the Knicks for NEXT year. But they play again tonight at the Garden. A caller in Minnesota said they don’t have lasagna, ziti or 6 foot subs at parties. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first Gio is surprised at how many people wear shorts to work now. That used to not be allowed. Jerry starts with all of the sound from last night’s Rangers loss at the Garden. Jerry has audio from WFAN hosts and the producers who are not listening. The Moment of The Day involves a female caller hitting on BT and asking him to a Knicks game while her husband is out of town. In the final segment of the hour, tonight is an important game five at the Garden tonight. Boomer thinks the Knicks were embarrassed in Indiana and will bounce back.
