What does this mean for the roster? How well will Jones fit this role? How does it compare to what Macdonald did with Jadeveon Clowney last year in Baltimore?

Emory Hunt publishes the Football Gameplan Draft Guide and provides draft coverage for CBS Sports. He scours the country looking for talent, and I find that he's much more objective and open-minded than other draft analysts.... much more willing to include lesser-known FCS players in his rankings.
As a result, his lists look quite a bit different than many of the other mainstream publications you may have seen.
We'll talk about that, while also digging into the Seahawks roster and getting Emory's thoughts on potential fits - both in the first round and later on - at their positions of greatest needs.
I also ask Emory to provide a few sleeper names that others seem to be overlooking, as well as a couple guys he thinks are being OVER rated.

The Seattle Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals today 21-20 to secure a winning season at 9-8, and yet much of the fan base is losing their MINDS tonight. Why? Because the Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears to earn the final wild card playoff spot in the NFC, eliminating the Seahawks in the process.
Once again the Seahawks defense was atrocious, and it almost led to a loss to the 4-win Cardinals, but that's not all that fans want to talk about in it's aftermath.
Some want to pin the blame on Geno Smith and are calling for an all-out assault on drafting a QB, while others are pining for the dismissal of long-time head coach Pete Carroll.

Once again the Seahawks find themselves needing a win and a Green Bay loss on the final weekend of the season to sneak into the playoffs, and once again it's due to a bad defensive performance in their latest loss, 30-23 to the Steelers.
Since then, Pete Carroll has said he knows how to fix the defensive issues they're having, and will have them ready to play this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
But... haven't we heard this before? Is this yet another broken record of broken promises?
I'll compare some other Carroll quotes about this same issue from the last couple seasons, as well as dive into two other areas of the team where there seem to be huge disconnects and dysfunction right now.

Facing the Tennessee Titans in his first game back after missing two games due to injury, Smith shook off some first-half rust in leading the Seahawks to yet another come-from-behind win. And this one was big.... improving the Seahawks record to 8-7 and putting them back in the drivers seat for a wild card playoff spot.

In what was an ugly game that didn't seem to be going the Seahawks way for most of the night, Seattle pulled out a stunning upset on Monday Night Football, snapping a 4-game losing streak with their 20-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. With Drew Lock once again starting for an injured Geno Smith, the Eagles seemed to control the game for most of the night, even with an under-the-weather Jalen Hurts playing at less than his typical stellar self. But with under 2 minutes to play, Lock took over and engineered a 92 yard drive, accounting for all of it in the air including two big plays to DK Metcalf, and the game-winning 29 yard TD pass to rookie WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba. There were some positives to build on from this one, but they were marred from a couple unfortunate coaching decisions late in the 4th quarter.

Yet again, the Seattle Seahawks led the LA Rams 13-7 at the half, just as they did in week 1. And yet again, they come away empty-handed.
Sean McVay is now 15-5 vs. Pete Carroll after the Rams 17-16 Week 11 victory, dropping Seattle to 6-4 and out of a first place tie for the lead in the NFC West.

The Seahawks win a thrilling home contest as they get 5 Jason Myers field goals, including the buzzer-beater, to beat the Washington Commanders 29-26 at Lumen Field in Seattle on Sunday.
The offense rolled up nearly 500 yards including 369 in the air from Geno Smith and yet.... there were fans who wanted him benched at halftime.
In my LIVE reaction show I'll address Geno's performance, and that of the rest of the team, as they get closer to the toughest part of their upcoming schedule.
But for now at least, the Seahawks improve to 6-3 to remain tied for first place in the NFC West with the San Francisco 49ers.

Clark played in just 2 games with the Denver Broncos this season before being released after things didn't work out, but prior to that he racked up 58.5 career sacks over 8 years with the Seahawks and Chiefs. And he's done his best work in the playoffs, ranking 3rd all-time in playoff sacks with 13.5
