Roommate 1 (Alex): Hey, Sarah, we're running low on groceries. I think it's time we make a shopping list.

Roommate 2 (Sarah): Yeah, you're right, Alex. I noticed we're almost out of milk and eggs. What else should we get?

Alex: Well, we're out of bread too, and I finished the last of the cereal this morning. So, let's add those to the list. 

Sarah: Okay, milk, eggs, bread, and cereal. Got it. Anything else?

Alex: Yeah, we should definitely pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables. Maybe some apples, bananas, lettuce, and tomatoes?

Sarah: Good call, Alex. And how about some chicken breasts for dinners this week?

Alex: That sounds delicious. Chicken breasts it is. Do you think we should stock up on any pantry staples, like pasta or rice?

Sarah: Yeah, let's grab some pasta, rice, and maybe a couple of cans of tomato sauce. It's always good to have those on hand for quick meals.

Alex: Agreed. And speaking of quick meals, we should get some frozen pizzas for those lazy nights when we don't feel like cooking.

Sarah: Haha, you read my mind. Frozen pizzas it is. Oh, and I noticed we're running low on toilet paper and dish soap. Should we add those to the list too?

Alex: Absolutely, can't forget the essentials. Toilet paper and dish soap are a must. 

Sarah: Great, so to recap, we need milk, eggs, bread, cereal, apples, bananas, lettuce, tomatoes, chicken breasts, pasta, rice, tomato sauce, frozen pizzas, toilet paper, and dish soap.

Alex: That sounds like a pretty comprehensive list. I'll grab my phone and start making a checklist. Should we plan to go shopping together this weekend?

Sarah: Yeah, that works for me. Saturday morning?

Alex: Sounds good. Saturday morning it is.

EMMA

Liam, you won't believe the day I had today!

LIAM

Oh, really? Do tell!

EMMA

Well, first thing this morning, I had that job interview at the design agency. It was nerve-wracking, but I think it went well.

LIAM

I knew you'd nail it! What happened next?

EMMA

After that, I decided to treat myself to brunch at that new café downtown. I tried this amazing avocado toast and lavender latte. It was like a little slice of heaven!

LIAM

Note to self: Try that café. Go on.

EMMA

Okay, so after brunch, I bumped into Sarah, you know, from my art class. She invited me to this art exhibit happening tonight. I couldn't say no, so now I have plans for this evening.

LIAM

An art exhibit? That sounds awesome! What's it about?

EMMA

It's about contemporary art, Liam. They're showcasing some really unique pieces. I think you'd love it.

LIAM

I'm in! Mind if I tag along?

EMMA

Of course not! It'll be even more fun with you there. But wait, there's more!

LIAM

More? What else happened today?

EMMA

Well, on my way home, I stopped by the park and had a long chat with that old man who feeds the pigeons. He told me stories about his travels, and it was strangely heartwarming.

LIAM

That sounds lovely, Em.

EMMA

It was. Sometimes, Liam, you find the most amazing stories in the most unexpected places.

LIAM

You're right, sis. It's the little moments that make life special.

EMMA

Exactly. So, that's my day in a nutshell. Job interview, brunch, art exhibit, and a heart-to-heart with a pigeon-loving stranger.

LIAM

Thanks for sharing, Em. Your day sounds pretty great.

EMMA

Okay. So today we're gonna go after, um, aim at versus aim for. And then go into, ask for and ask out. Yes, your hand gestures are off, but Shannon's got it. 

Got this shit shit man I got this. 

Okay. So do you have an example for, to ask out, 

like, would I ask out for, Hey, could I borrow that t-shirt. 

No, no, no. Like use ask out in a sentence. 

Can I ask you out on a date? 

Yes, for sure. For sure. So that's. I think those, the only way you'd really use ask out that's the biggest way to use it is to ask someone out on a date. 

Which in modern day, that's never gonna happen. Let's be real... freaking shit. 

Because of online dating.

Let's be real, such a shit show, man, such a shit show. 

We forgot about what ask out means because, uh, what? 

Indifferent towards it. Now at this point in life, 

Not anymore. Um, okay. What about ask for? 

I would like to ask for a slice of pizza. 

Yeah. Yeah. So it's kind of like, that's a pretty straightforward one to use.

Such a cute, your mom's got freaking killer taste. I'm living for this.

So shannon's into my mom's sweater right now. So you'd ask my mom. For borrowing it. Yeah. 

Living for it. 

Yeah. Yeah. So you'd ask for something like to like receive something for someone or ask for a favor to do something. So yeah.

What were the other ones? I forget.

There were two more 

Shit balls. Are you serious? 

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Let me find out, hold on one second. Okay. In one brief intermission, wait, um, oh my God. 

Aim for aim for aim for. 

Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Aim for and aim at 

aim for a 75 thou' a year salary 

Yeah yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So aim for is more like a goal. You aim for achieving a certain goal and then aim at is like, A physical object, I think. Do you agree with that? Like how would you, like, how would you use aim at versus aim for 

no, I feel like that would definitely be, um, the fair differentiation between the two.
