Film vs Film Podcast
This is a film podcast where we pick our favourite film topic, like a director, actor or genre, any subject related to film. Martin the host and Boaz or sometimes a guest, each pick a film to discuss from that topic. We discuss them in three different aspects of each film, Directing, screenplay and acting. Then we rank each aspect out of ten. Plus we pick our favourite shot or scenes, lines and performances. At the end we tally the points and see who wins.

  • 184 - Luca Guadagnino Films Part 2 - Bones and All with the Fake outt

This episode as Luca Guadagnino is back with a new movie and again exploring the theme of human desire. This time ditching the horror and adding arguably one of the bestest if not the biggest movie star around at the moment in the form of Zendaya and giving her two fine looking tennis players to play with in Challengers. So we'll be looking at our favourite Luca Guadagnino films, and joining me is someone a bit different, Aaron from The fake outt movie review instagram account.

Warning we will be talking SPOILERS

Its Martin’s pick this time for part two, and if theres an excuse to choose a horror film, he's taking it! But which Luca horror film do I hear you cry? Well as is the way if we haven’t seen a film we are going with that one and that film is Bones and All. On this one we talk about the amazing performances especially from Mark Rylance, but also a performance that feels frustrating. We talk about that incredible final scene. Plus we talk how they actually eat the bones. IMDB page

  • 182 - Monster/Kaiju Films Part 2 - Pacific Rim with, Dissect That Film

This episode as Godzilla and his best mate Kong are stomping up the box office in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire we are naturally talking monster/kaiju films. And I'm joined by a first timer guest in Parker from the Dissect That Film Podcast.

Warning we will be talking SPOILERS

Parker is up next and decided to be kind to Martin at not stick with the all time classic that has been talked to death about and would absolutely beat pretty much any movies in a fight, Jurassic Park. And instead went with Martins original choice the frankly ultimate kaiju film Pacific Rim. In this one we talk about just how god dam cool the fight scenes are and how they just look so huge in scale. We talk about where the film goes wrong in the script and why Idris Elba is by far the best thing in this. Plus we talk nipples. IMDB page

Martins up first again with a first time watch with one of Bong Joon Ho's first feature films The Host from 2006. We talk about how the film feels so different from the first half to the second in a great way. Plus we talk Jaws. IMDB page

  • 180 - Robert Pattinson Films Part 2 - The Lighthouse with, Haven’t Scene It: A Movie Pod
This week as Hollywood is doing it's thing again and wildly delaying one of the most anticipated film of the year to next January. Yes I'm writing about Mickey 17. The new sci fi film we all have to wait a bit longer for now. But we are sticking with relating the episode to Mickey 17. Of course the one picture we have about the film is of Robert Pattinson upside down. So we are talking Robert Pattinson films. Of course I can't alone I'm joined by the third appearance from Haven't Scene It.

Warning we will be talking SPOILERS.

Tommy's pick from haven't scene it, is the obvious choice for both of us I think. Of course Tommy is going with the bat shit insane, scary, haunting  and hilarious The Lighthouse. Robert Eggers second feature film. On this one we talked about how the film can be seen on the surface as a straight up, two guys just going insane film, but also a film thats got a lot of layers to it. We talk about the incredible performances from both the lead actors Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe and how there wildly different. Plus we talk about, seagulls, steaks and lobsters.IMDB page
