When she was starting her business, she often felt completely overwhelmed with the amount of work she had to do and wished that she had more time. But on the other side of the pendulum, once her business was set and she was able to travel the world for years on end, she then faced the fear of having too much free time. This contrast between both pendulums and her experience with it allowed her to have a realization about time: it is an aspect of her own energy serving her and her own life experience.

These thoughts led her to peel back some layers and come to the realization that what she’s really doing is creating her own narrative for each person in the room. I love how she compares it to a T.V. show that she’s running in her mind. This really helped me become aware of how I’m doing this in my own life and how I need to create greater awareness for when I’m creating false narratives.

Today, we're wrapping up Danielle's chapter in the Beauty of Life, and she reflects on how using her inner voice has transformed her life during the past few months. Danielle started this journey with stories around loneliness, but now she speaks about how that narrative has shifted for her.

How to handle it when others ask what you do. How can you answer that in a polite way that also kinda says, “Yes, this is my job but I’m more than just my job.” I am a private piano instructor and I find that parents will text me at any hour of day sometimes with topics that should have been emailed. Even if I don’t open it or respond I am still thinking of it at dinner or in the evening. How can I address this or stop thinking about work? I constantly struggle with wanting to be everything to everyone (in all aspects of my life but especially my work). How do I set boundaries with myself and others so that I start listening to my own needs and putting myself first? I would like to know if you have any tips how to get your partner on family on board while working on your dreams to make them understand that you believe in yourself and what you do and you can do it! I sometimes feel like people are saying “sure” but what they are really saying is “you should find something real to do”. What practices do you do to strengthen self-worth? Do you have any touchstones or affirmations that ground you if and when an idea or project doesn’t turn out how you wanted? I was un/underemployed for over 4 years and it did a number on my self-esteem. How you work through those feelings of inadequacy when everyone around you has a full-time job and you’re looking really hard and doing everything you can, but nothing is working out. What career advice would you give to someone who is excited by many interests and has tried several professional paths, but hasn’t found their ‘calling’ or a career that brings both personal fulfillment and financial security? How do you balance patience and ambition in your work, and keep it separate from self worth? Ambition has always been a part of my self worth so what happens when I separate from that?

I’ve only been listening for a few months and love the topics and guests but you always sound so darn happy. I find that hard to believe and I’m sure you just want to show your most optimistic self but would love a dose of reality. Not tears or anything just wouldn’t mind hearing about the hard parts because then we would understand and relate to the journey more. Really get into why you were lacking pleasure in your life.

Two questions: 1. How did you build up your audience (both on your blog and podcast) to where it is today? How did you initially get people to know about you? And 2. Since you mentioned it, I’d love to know your favorite murder mysteries!

I know you lived in Austin and love it there; any favorite hangouts or restaurants or places to see? Also, having made several moves in your life, do you have any tips for making a big move?

I would love to know more about how you transitioned from your jewelry business to your Life With Intention work? I love my work as a professional organizer, but want to transition from cleaning people’s messes to helping my clients make meaningful life transformation (and yes, I believe organization can do that!).

You seem very confident about who you are and what you believe. Have you always felt self-assured or is there a story there?
