Ask Away: Dating a Short King, How to Flirt & Getting Friend-Zoned
Today’s Ask Away is a good one, but first a little life recap! Raeann may have came back from her Mexico vacation paler than when she got there, but her relationship with Gabe has grown stronger. Raeann and Kristina share how they feel like they are glowing down, but apparently it’s a normal feeling in your early 30s so love that for us. Speaking of aging, Kristina got a 3D mirror image of her face and left with Botox recommendations and how to fix her tech neck. Also, Kristina drops that she is Taylor Swift’s muse?! One of her songs mentions an interview Kristina had with Travis Kelce and the Swifites are obsessed to say the least. Meanwhile, Raeann is fixated on the common theme that men never ask questions on dates and are just terrible conversationalists; the reason why is up for debate. On today’s Ask Away, we give advice that will hopefully help you navigate your life dilemmas. Dating a short king can be an insecurity for some, but just own it! Rock the high heels and don’t be self-conscious about it. We also give our hot takes on how to get comfortable with flirting out in the wild. If you leave the RBF behind and give them a compliment about how much you love their shoes, you’ll be just fine. We share our thoughts on how to handle being friend-zoned and the best way to ask your friend to pay you back. You got this ladies, just be yourself and be confident!

Today we sit down with Chelsea Blackwell to unveil what really went down during her time on Love is Blind, the Megan Fox debacle, and her dating life post Jimmy. Chelsea thought she didn’t say or do anything too crazy on the show that would bring unwanted attention, but little did she know that she would soon be roasted by America for saying Megan Fox is her celebrity doppelgänger. As she navigates this new life in the spotlight, she is handling the scrutiny with humor and grace while embracing exciting new opportunities with confidence. Chelsea gives her raw thoughts on the Love is Blind experiment, if she would do it again, and what really happens during a normal day in the pods. She opens up about her toxic relationship with Jimmy and the unexpected rollercoaster of emotions. As she reenters the dating scene, she is excited to see what happens and may even slide into some celebrity DMs. From being a jet-setting flight attendant to being a verified reality star, the world is truly your oyster and we cannot wait to see what’s next for you, Chelsea! In other news, Raeann fills us in on her first vacation with Gabe! Other than Raeann ditching Gabe for TSA pre-check, it went swimmingly! Kristina and Raeann real talk about the dreaded bathroom sitch when traveling with your significant other. Are you a lobby bathroom or embrace the awkwardness type of person? In today’s solo episode, we talk about growing up as the bigger friend and the universal experiences we went through as a result. But before we dive in, we have to fill you in on a few things. Big steps were taken as Gabe met Raeann’s parents for the first time! There might have been a little chaotic family energy but we realized every family has a little crazy in them. Speaking of, how often do you talk to your parents?? Kristina’s trip to elusive Sarasota finally left the group chat. We also chat about the financial pressure of over-the-top bachelorette parties and similarly, the slippery slope over birthday dinners when the check comes. And of course, in pop culture news, Nick Viall’s reality recap podcast enlightens us with a male perspective about constantly critiquing your partner and the debate over proactive couple’s therapy. If you’ve ever felt the anxiety that comes with writing down your extra-large t-shirt size in a room full of size smalls, this is for you. Being the big girl in the friend group or growing up as the bigger girl, we have had to endure many experiences that take a hit to our self-esteem. The defeating experience of prom dress shopping, not being able to share clothes with friends, and the feeling that no boys like you, were just some of the fun things we had to go through as the bigger friend. Raeann and Kristina also open up about how their families affected their body confidence, both the good and the bad. As we work through our past traumas, we learn to change our mindset and how we should talk to ourselves. This change in mindset was largely due to the body-positive movement in the media and seeing others embrace self-love at any size. Hype yourself up and fake it till you make it because you ARE hot!

Meet Emma Arletta: Body Confidence, Plus-Size Dating & Personal Branding
We are thrilled to sit down with the inspiring plus-size content creator, Emma Arletta. She is the face behind the ‘Big Girls’ movement, is a prominent voice in the body confidence community, and is known to give great advice about dating as a plus-size woman. Emma delves into the dynamics of growing up with a thin mom and how her journey for self-love and confidence grew into what it is today. Finding confidence within yourself can be challenging, but it is so important to look within yourself to find what brings you fulfillment and joy outside of your looks. Emma talks about her transition from being a full-time Speech Therapist to a full-time content creator. She gives advice about personal branding and how to use your unfiltered voice to grow on social media. We also hear about her merch launch that sold out (!!) and how she is about to take the modeling world by storm! Emma opens up and offers refreshing advice on self-acceptance, relationships, and pursuing your dreams regardless of societal norms. Speaking of relationships, Raeann and her boyfriend hard launched on social media and it accidentally went viral! If you’re curious about how they met, head over to Patreon for a full Q&A. Both Raeann and Kristina chat about how they want their partners to become influencers, like who doesn’t want more content of Steve?! Speaking of, Steve and his “Fyre Festival of easter egg hunts” comments definitely would’ve been a hit. This week’s obsessed with items revolve around pop culture, from JoJo Siwa’s cringe-worthy rebrand to The Valley and Kristina’s hatred of Jesse on the show. This episode featuring Emma Arleta offers incredible insights that we're obsessed with, and we hope you will be too!

From Runway to Reality: Lauren Chan is Redefining Beauty Standards
Today we sit down with Lauren Chan, supermodel, Sports Illustrated rookie, and plus-size fashion designer (yes, she really does it all). Lauren is a prominent voice in the body-positive and self-love community and is truly redefining beauty standards across every avenue she ventures into. In our conversation, Lauren opens up about her trauma-driven pursuit of perfection, her self-discovery as a gay woman, and her inspiring journey post-divorce. We dive into her time as a Sports Illustrated rookie and how it is an incredible experience but it is also eye-opening to realize that every woman gets insulted for their own beauty standards and that there is no “perfect woman” in a man’s world. Lauren shares advice about how dressing for the female-gaze is the best thing you can do for your confidence and that you should curate your social media feeds with uplifting creators that make you feel inspired. From breaking beauty standards to navigating her passions, Lauren’s story shows us the importance of representation and to always stay true to yourself. In other news, Raeann and Kristina launched Confidants yesterday!! Confidants is our new Patreon community that will be full of new solo episodes, first access to live events, a Discord channel, and so much more. We are SO excited for this new extension of The Confident Collective community. We also dive into Em Rata’s controversial divorce rings, swimming with no goggles on, and that Kristina finally fulfilled her dream of getting a partnership with Bravo! The Ozempic Effect: Unpacking Society’s Obsession with Thinness and the Body Positivity Backlash
In this solo episode, we’re talking all about the craze behind Ozempic and of course, catching up with our girls. Kristina spills the tea about her bougie Aspen brand trip, meanwhile, Raeann had a much-needed low-key week. Kristina and Raeann chat about how drastically different their lives are now as Kristina talks about how special her first mother-son dance (aka rave) was. Raeann opens up about not feeling settled and her current existential crisis that she’s been trying to navigate. As for pop-culture references, we’re watching Summer House, binging The Traitors, and wondering where is Kate Middleton hiding! And we’re taking a poll — should Kristina be on The Real Housewives of New Jersey? We’ve allll heard about it, seen ads for it, or know someone who’s on it. Yes, we’re talking about Ozempic, Wegovy, semaglutide. While some are tempted by its promises of thinness and a lack of food noise, others raise concerns about its long-term effects and the added societal pressure to conform to a narrow beauty ideal. We have made monumental strides forward as a society in the body-positive movement but overnight we’ve taken steps backward. Raeann mentions her fashion collaborations have dropped due to their lack of larger sizes available. A woman’s Roman Empire is their body and weight, so when praising and parading around this ideal that thinness is only a few injections away, this may have a negative effect on people in larger bodies and promote a negative stigma. There are so many sides and things to take into account with these drugs so by no means are we judging you if you are on them. Amidst this weight loss trend, we hope there’s a refocus on what really matters which is feeling and being healthy, nourishing your body, and loving the body you’re in, instead of constantly chasing a thinner body.

We analyze the hottest spring trends from dressy shorts to feminine rosettes. There is a slight departure from the long-time standing clean girl aesthetic, as we are seeing boxer shorts, funky glasses, and cheetah-print pants. Now, Raeann and Kristina are in debate about balloon jeans and mesh shoes, but it might just be all in how you style them. We dive into micro-trends and our current go-to fashion brands. But before we get into all that goodness, we’re first finding out what and *cough who* might be making Raeann a sports fan. In the end, Raeann and Kristina are entering their sports era and we are here for it! Now, we know you’re all dying to hear whether or not Raeann went out on THAT date we talked about last week … Well, let’s just say there was a shirtless selfie and some bad communication, do you think that was a dealbreaker for Raeann and would it be one for you? Next we’re moving on to some Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelorette Theories, of which there are a few … Is it going to be Leslie or Teresa and WHO is right for the first Golden Bachelorette? All of that aside, Kristina spent the first night at her new house and is filling us in on her favorite parts of the house, especially a shower and bathroom that sounds like a spa— heaven. Well our Confident Collective Friendsgiving was one for the books! We’re going to fill you in on our incredible night with awesome new friends, throbbing feet, a beautiful dinner, and we may even answer the age old question, “How many dirty martinis can Kristina order before the waiter tries to cut her off?” But before that, we’re catching you up on the day … which may or may not have included tears on New Jersey Transit, a euphoric cab ride, and a buccal massage— All before noon. Raeann’s filling us in on the pre-Friendsgiving photo shoot drama and a pretty privilege joke that fell flat while also bringing us along for a Nightcap Adventure involving a pickle entrepreneur, raccoon eyes, and Lady and the Tramp. Finding an outfit you love and equally feel confident to rock at any party, get-together, or (in Kristina’s case) a gala, can be downright overwhelming. So we’re getting into it today! Before that though, we’re talking appropriate Christmas decorating times ... Someone may or may not already have a tree decorated and up in her house before her couch. Which, respect. Then getting into the meat of this ep, Kristina and Raeann are tackling an ongoing question and challenge for most of us— “How do you deal with dressing anxiety?” The holidays mean prepping for all sorts of social functions, so why not eliminate future last-minute stress by sorting your fits now? Also, keep in mind that dressing up can be FUN; especially when you’re mixing textures, throwing in a feather here and there, for starters. Kristina and Raeann are giving solid advice and some practical ways to get ahead of all that potential holiday stress. We’re romancing our lives, remember? So let’s have some fun and feel good doing it together! What We Talk About:

Going Deeper with Rosie: The Virtue of Food, Eating Differences within Relationships, and Commenting on Each Other’s Habits
Navigating any food conversations with your person or potential partner can be tense and tricky. We each have a very different relationship with food but that doesn’t mean we can’t come to the conversation from a level place and not with a grenade-of-opinion in our hand. That’s why we’re so glad to have Rosie back with us to help answer a listener’s question about this very thing. The best part? We all heard the question a bit differently so you’re really going to get a variety in perspectives today! We also get to hear about Raeann’s trip to Vegas, XS, eye-surgery update and a surprise Diplo show. This may or may not have subsequently led to an urgent care pit-stop on her way out of town to Paris. And don’t worry, we’re getting the details on what may be the perfect hookup, anddd some other possible vacation romances. Meanwhile, Kristina’s having a bit of a time getting settled after her big move and some disappointing school visits, lack-luster ferries, and a not-so-reliable babysitting situation. But she’s trusting the process! So gear up, we’ve got a great ep for you! “Just like you don’t talk about your sex life in bed, don’t talk about your eating habits at the table.” -Raeann Langas What We Talk About:

Tue, 03 Oct 2023 - 51min - 147 - 146. Ask Away: Boyfriend’s Mama Drama, Destination Wedding Woes & Shifting Your Mindset Around Your Size
We’re feeling all sorts of chaotic and while it’s bad for our sanity, it’s good for the podcast! Catch up with us in this episode on how we’re feeling post NYFW. We’re sharing some crazy stories about what we’ve been dealing with behind the scenes, some inspo Kristina got from a recent wellness and entrepreneurship panel, and how it’s been for Raeann to dip her toes back in the dating pond. Then, we’re answering your questions about dealing with boyfriend mama drama, friends flaking on your wedding, not feeling the pressure to “snap back” after having a baby and how to get in the right mindset to find clothes that are comfortable, cute and affordable.
Stop placing value on an arbitrary number like the size of your jeans or like the size of your dress. That literally means nothing because it's so different in every single brand. This fashion week, I wore a size large. I wore a size 2X. I wore a size 12. I wore a size 18. Who the hell cares? It literally means nothing about your self worth. So if you need to go up in size, go up in size. - Kristina Zias
What We Talk About:
A recent pregnancy scare Kristina’s mom shaming experience What Rae’s spiraling about since NYFW Takeaways from the panel discussion with Mind Body Green and Ollie Wellness How Raeann is bringing energy to in-person dating right now Asking away about… How to navigate my boyfriend's mom not being supportive of our relationship How do you accept your size and begin to buy what fits you best, no matter the size? How do I confront my friend about being disappointed she’s not coming to my destination wedding, even though she has an extravagant lifestyle? How did you deal with inevitable changes in your body after having a baby, and resist the snapback culture for moms?I try so many things that don't work to find things that fit, and then it becomes like a practice. - Raeann Langas

Going Deeper with Rosie on Fat Shaming: Navigating Negative Comments & A Size-Biased World
No matter how confident you are, being fat shamed still hurts. Whether it’s intentional or not, overt or covert, no one wants to be fat shamed. It's such a sucky feeling and after talking to our friend Rosie recently about an experience involving fat shaming on a plane, we’re left to wonder, why does this still happen? Why is being called fat such a diss and insult? And why do people think it's okay to say that?
So, today we’re diving into the root of fat phobia, size stereotypes, and why the term 'fat' is still weaponized as an insult. We’re reflecting on the fat shaming experiences that we've had, how they’ve shaped our confidence, what we’ve learned from them, how to handle these situations, and ultimately how to overcome these negative comments. Remember that you don't have to be a certain size to be confident to be happy.
This might be controversial to say, but for so long I have been saying your life isn't going to be perfect if you lose weight, right? But the sad reality is that people do treat you better and a lot of things are better. - Raeann Langas
What We Talk About:
Celebrating Krisitna’s grandfather’s 100th birthday How Raeann’s parents met Obsessed with Seth Cohen/The O.C. and Gossip Girl A shocking fat phobic altercation we witnessed during NYFW Rosie’s recent experience with fat shaming on a plane Skinny people are treated better than fat people Unintentional fat shaming from friends Scarcity mentality around body image How we can change our collective culture around fat phobia The lack of representation of people in bigger bodies in media How do we get away from just glorifying thinness? Feeling like we have to prove ourselves with our fitnessThe most insidious thing about fat shaming is that so much of it is done in an undertone way. - Rosie Richardson
Where my confidence comes in is, fuck you guys, I'm successful in the body I am right now, and I think I'm confident because I was able to prove them all wrong. - Kristina Zias

Today we are excited to sit down with our friend, Khaylah Epps, the voice behind the podcast I Might Die Alone. In her podcast, she celebrates women who are defining their lives beyond their relationship status and dives deep into the dichotomy of wanting romantic love, but also not letting that absence consume us.
In this episode we talk to Khaylah about her journey of decentering romance in her life and what that has looked like for her. We talk about her desperate era and experience being on The Bachelor, her ultra independent era, and how she’s landed in her current gray era; finding a good balance between wanting a romantic relationship without letting that desire become the center of her life. Khaylah shares beautiful insight and advice about the difference between being single and being alone, why there shouldn’t be a hierarchy of relationships, and navigating friendships with people in all phases of life.
We're so excited for you to hear this episode and encourage you to check out Khaylah’s podcast, I Might Die Alone, if you enjoy or relate to this conversation!
What I'm challenging is the idea of obsessing over a romantic relationship and saying that it is the most important relationship for you to find in this lifetime. I just disagree with it. I think it's beautiful but I think so many other relationships are beautiful as well, and there should be no hierarchy. - Khaylah Epps

It’s no secret that the patterns and behaviors that were modeled to us in our families growing up influences our confidence. Establishing the who, what, where and why of how we were raised is so important when you're trying to change patterns that are no longer serving you. In this conversation, Raeann, Kristina and Rosie talk about each of their own experiences growing up and the messages they received about confidence and body image. We talk about what helped instill confidence in us, what might be affecting us still today in how we feel about ourselves, and what we want to change for future generations.
We recognize that perfection isn’t the goal, and every generation before did the best they could within the culture they also were raised in. But it’s important to recognize that we have the power to reclaim what confidence looks like for us now. We hope this conversation will show that while we can’t control our past, we can break the cycle and show the next generation what confidence really looks and feels like.
“It's really important to have those dialogues with your families because I know I'm not the only one whose families comment on their bodies and make them feel a certain way. I think that you have to express how you feel, let it go, set your boundaries and then choose to ignore it because how they feel about themselves does not need to be a reflection on how you feel about yourself.” - Kristina

Ella Halikas on Building Delusional Confidence, Overcoming Fear of Failure & Dating Insecurities
Welcome Greek Goddess, curve model, and content creator Ella Halikas to the show! Ella shares our mission to help other women feel confident in their skin, and turned her biggest dream into a reality by becoming a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model in 2021. We admire Ella’s confidence and her ability to go after her goals with determination and grace. She reminds us that we get to our big goals by focusing on our passion, and striving to be our best self every day.
Today she is sharing her best advice for setting boundaries with family members when it comes to conversations about weight, building “delusional” confidence, overcoming fear of failure, setting goals while avoiding burnout, and how rejection breeds resilience. We discuss dating as curvy women, and the self-worth struggles we are working through. We also talk about what it’s really like working as a full-time curve model, and the exciting project she will be releasing soon. We are grateful to Ella for sharing her wisdom and experience, and know you’re going to love this conversation!
“I think that having confidence really means wanting to be better than who you were yesterday. I'm always striving to be the best version of myself in all different facets.” - Ella Halikas
We also talk about:
Ella’s experience being raised in a Greek household Setting boundaries with family members How to determine what your goals are Learning from failure How Ella handles rejection in the modeling industry Why Ella struggles with dating confidence What Ella tells herself on her low confidence days How to navigate gaining weight and nothing fitting you anymore Ella’s Biggest ick when it comes to dating Avoiding goal burnout“We grow and we learn so much from our failures. I learn the most about myself, about what I can achieve, how I can handle situations, when I fail, when I lose, when I get rejected, when I get told no, when I get dropped from agencies, when I don't get the job anymore. Don't let that stop you because literally on the other side of failure is the win.” - Ella Halikas

Sober Curious? Olivia Noceda’s Advice for Navigating Relationships & an Alcohol-Free Lifestyle
We’re sure you already know and love today’s guest, Olivia Noceda! Olivia has had an alcohol-free lifestyle for the past 15 months, so we invited her on the podcast to share her experience and to explore the concept of sober curiosity. Olivia shares her personal journey with sober curiosity and why she decided to cut out alcohol. We discuss the similarities between the sober curious movement and diet culture, and the red flags to be aware of. We also talk about the correlation between alcohol and hookup culture, and how to navigate dating while sober curious.
Raeann and Kristina both open up about their own relationships with alcohol and share real-time reflections about why they drink. As Raeann has recently experienced, living in a drinking culture like NYC can be challenging for those who are exploring an alcohol-free lifestyle, so Olivia shares some great tips for going out and feeling more comfortable not drinking. We also delve into the potential effects on friendships and relationships and provide advice for those who want to stop drinking but are worried about the impact it could have on their social life.
Join us for this enlightening, honest conversation as we explore the growing shift towards sober curiosity and the importance of asking ourselves how alcohol does or doesn’t serve us in this phase of life. Regardless of what you choose, remember to always do what’s best for you, and that trusting yourself is loving yourself. P.S. Don’t forget to head to Olivia’s website and Instagram to try out some of her delicious mocktail recipes!
“The questions I started asking myself were; how does alcohol serve me? What is it to me in my life and what is my relationship with it? With no judgment, I'm not judging myself, I just want to know what it is. And very simply, I had nothing good to say about it. I just started to realize that there was nothing really positive that it was bringing into my life.” - Olivia Noceda
What We Talk About:
What does “sober curious” mean?
Why Olivia explored sober curiosity to begin with
Similarities between sober curiosity and diet culture
Questions to ask yourself if you’re starting to become sober curious
Tips for living in a drinking culture like NYC while sober curious
Navigating dating while sober curious
Kristina’s reflections on her relationship with alcohol
Why Raeann feels influenced to drink more than she’d like to
How cultural influences play a role in our relationship with alcohol
Signs alcohol may be a problem for you
Why there’s a culture shift towards sober curiosity right now
Advice for people who want to stop drinking alcohol but are worried about how it will affect friendships and relationships
The correlation between alcohol and hookup culture
Tips for going out and feeling more comfortable not drinking
“I feel there's obviously a lot of judgment for people who don't drink, but I also feel like there's a lot of people who don't drink who judge those that do. We all need to have a little bit more fair play and more respect for everyone's life choices, no matter what they are.” - Kristina Zias
“When you are following what you desire and what you are interested in and bettering your life, you're basically weeding out people who aren't aligned with your values and your mission. And that's just going to be better for you in the long run. So in the short term, it can be scary, but I think you have to look ahead to the long, long term goal. - Raeann Langas

The audacity! We’re laughing but it’s actually ridiculous, the shit men say. And honestly, no one gets more random, crazy shit said to them than us. We’re sharing personal stories about the most insane things men have said to us; from commenting on our size, to the way we walk, to how our eyes look. Then, we share some of the most unhinged things our TCC listeners have heard from men. We can’t imagine what’s going through their minds to make these comments, but they sure as hell have made for funny stories. Whether they don’t know how ridiculous they sound or simply don’t care, let’s take this opportunity to collectively call them out on their BS.
“I think one of the most ridiculous things that someone said to me was when I was walking into Gelson's, which is a grocery store in LA, the security guard goes, ‘Damn girl, you walking like you’re about to fuck somebody up.’ And I was like, excuse me?” - Kristina

Tue, 21 Feb 2023 - 50min - 123 - 122. Kristina's Birth Story
Baby boy number 2 has arrived! It’s so wild what an adventure pregnancy and labor and delivery are. There’s so many highs and lows and ALL THE EMOTIONS but with the absolute best reward ever in the end. In this episode, Kristina is sharing her entire birth story; which was much different (and harder) than her first experience, and to be honest, pretty stressful and traumatic. Although both mom and baby are recovering and doing well, Kristina openly and transparently walks through the details of her labor and delivery, giving her advice and learnings along the way. She shares how she and her husband Steve introduced baby Christian to Nikolas, his initial reaction to his baby brother, and how it’s going now. Motherhood is so hard and so fulfilling at the same time. Balancing a newborn and a toddler is a whole new ballgame but Kristina feels so confident and at peace knowing that she’s got this.
“On the way to the hospital, honestly, we had so much fun. I was in so much pain and we just started blasting music and acting like we were going to the club. We were singing at the top of our lungs and it felt like we were just about to embark on this crazy adventure, which we were. But instead of going to the club, we're going to the hospital.” - Kristina Zias
“All I knew was: the baby's gonna come tonight, so there's no point in me trying to get some sleep. So I was like, I'm gonna do my makeup and hair because if we're gonna have a baby tonight, I might as well at least try and look cute, and at least that will distract me from the pain. This is how I choose to give birth, how I choose to distract myself. And it was an amazing distraction, honestly. - Kristina Zias
What We Talk About:
How Kristina’s feeling as a mom of 2
Processing a traumatic birth with self compassion
Was the psychic medium Steve saw (from episode 89) right about the baby’s gender?
Preparing for birth when you have a big baby and what Kristina did to get him to come naturally
The timeline of the night she went into labor
How she distracted herself from the pain
Her expectations versus the reality of her second birth
The biggest differences in her experience with Nikolas and her second delivery
What she suggests talking to your doctor about before delivery
Her stressful pushing process
The scary post delivery realization the doctor had
What Kristina’s recovery process was like and what she did to feel more like herself
How they introduced Nikolas to the baby and his initial reaction
How everyone’s doing now
“Not to sound so woowoo, but that energy really makes a big difference. I know if I were to have another one or if you're having a baby, I think it's important to communicate the type of energy you need from your doctor because that is something I never would've thought of.” - Kristina Zias
“ Around 11:26 AM my little boy Christian James DeAngelo, who was born: nine pounds, five ounces with a knotted umbilical cord. My little miracle baby is just like the sweetest little thing, and I feel like I'm just meant to be a mom. I feel so confident in that, and it feels really great. Obviously it's super, super hard and challenging and there have been tears along the way but I feel like you realize how strong you are and how resilient you are, and just having a growing family is such a blessing.” - Kristina Zias

Tue, 14 Feb 2023 - 51min - 122 - 121. If you’re feeling lost, this is for you
Reflecting on different phases of your life gives you an opportunity to appreciate the moments that have made you who you are, and shows you that you’re capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for. When Raeann moved to Los Angeles five years ago, her life looked a lot different. Tue, 07 Feb 2023 - 54min - 121 - 120. Cycle Syncing Masterclass with Alisa Vitti
Are you someone who has been on birth control for years yet doesn’t really understand its long term effects? How familiar are you with your cycle? Did you know that having horrible PMS symptoms is NOT normal and due to hormone imbalances that we can fix through lifestyle adjustments in each phase of our cycle? Unfortunately, women haven’t been well-informed about our own bodies, but it’s time to take our power back and equip ourselves with knowledge of how our bodies can function their best. And we have the best guest to lay it all out for us “hormone virgins” in this episode!
Alisa Vitti is busting female wellness myths and teaching us how to get to know our bodies and cycles better. Alisa Vitti is a women’s hormone and functional nutrition expert and pioneer in female biohacking. She is the best selling author of WomanCode, and her new book, In the FLO. She is the creator of the Cycle Syncing Method™— a female centric diet and lifestyle program that leverages hormonal patterns for optimal health, fitness and productivity. As the founder of FLOLiving.com, she has built the world’s first menstrual healthcare platform that helps women around the world put their period issues like PCOS, Fibroids, Endometriosis, and PMS into remission naturally using her highly effective FLO Protocol and the FLO Balance Supplements.
Get out your notebooks, because this episode is full of information you need to know to optimize your life through hormone balancing with the Cycle Syncing Method. We talk about why so many women struggle with hormone imbalances, how to cycle sync your workouts, what to eat in the different phases of your cycle, and so much more. We know you’re going to learn so much in this episode, just like we did. Make sure to share this episode with a friend because all women deserve to know what’s going on with their bodies.
“That whole relationship that women historically have had with exercise, with fitness, with dieting, with their bodies, with weight has been made unnecessarily toxic because they’ve been given a blueprint that belongs to the self optimization for a man’s metabolism. I created the cycle synching method because the form of our self care must follow the function of our hormones.” - Alisa Vitti
What we talk about:
Alisa’s journey with PCOS that led her to this work
Why we haven’t learned about hormone balancing until now
What is cycle syncing?
The effects of women being left out of medical fitness and nutrition research
Food and fitness you should incorporate in each phase of your cycle
Why women shouldn’t follow a static routine
The root of women’s toxic relationship with food and exercise
Why you have brain fog
Where to start with cycle syncing
What happens to your cycle on birth control
The disadvantages to not ovulating during your reproductive years
The contraceptive gel you should ask your doctor for
Ask Away: my mom is constantly bringing up my weight. What can I do?
“The cycle syncing method is the method I created to help women really understand what to do to take care of themselves correctly in each phase of their cycle. Doing this reduces stress, protects your delicate reproductive hormone balance, protects ovulation, reduces PMS, keeps blood sugar; does all the things you need it to do which is the direct opposite of how you’ve been told to care for yourself.” - Alisa Vitti

“I don't have a goal to dress to look thinner. I have a goal to wear things that make me feel confident, feel cool or inspire me in some way. That’s something we have to remind ourselves: you don’t have to dress to look thinner. You don’t have to workout to lose weight.” - Kristina
